I've come back after a LOOOOONG break from the game *(what's a Centurion?... oh, neat!)* and was pleased to find what appeared to be some new control options. I never liked how you couldn't reset your mouse position to neutral without accidentally changing guard, and how I'd often get "snap-back" on fast left- and right- guard changes, even with mouse sensitivity set to 0. I've also convinced myself that you can't queue up guard changes while being stunned etc. with the mouse (or maybe I'm just getting bad guard change inputs due to the 2 previously-mentioned problems, hell if I know).
The new interface for mouse sensitivity makes it look like you can set a dead zone but NOPE! This is such a misleading way to represent sensitivity on the graph. It looks like a dead zone but it's actually the exact opposite: a bigger inner circle somehow means higher sensitivity! At least a dead zone option was added for downward motions (which I actually find helpful BTW), but this is a very small part of the overall problem.
Meanwhile, I look at the options for controllers, and... THERES A DEADZONE OPTION FOR THE CONTROL STICK. Even though a control stick is designed to reset to neutral without causing extra inputs. Are you kidding? This is so backwards it hurts my head.
Is it time for me to go buy a controller for more money than I paid for the actual game, and relearn everything from scratch? I think it might be.
Anyone actually still using mouse inputs and succeeding?
