    Fake system requirements

    SEEEERIOUSLY ubisoft?
You give fake system requirements? Bought the game nearly a week ago .
I have an i7 6700hq gtx960m 4gb & 16gb RAM and cant even run it on very low and 1280x720 resolution whereas on other new games I play them on high quality.
I called support emmediately but not a bother to reply. Suppose if i ask for a refund same will happen.
    THANKS UBISOFT YOU RE GRRRRRRRREAT!

Your PC is below the minimum spec (GTX 660). A GTX 960M only reaches 50-70% the performance of a full sized desktop GTX 660 depending on the game.

    Hi
I' m experiencing troubles running ACO on my PC.
System specificments are above required ones, I have a Intel i7 8700K CPU, a Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 6 Gb Strix Asus, 8X2 Gb RAM DDR4, SSD EVO Samsung 256Gb, 2 Tb HDD Barracuda.
Anyway, I cannot run the game at 60 FPS even in very low quality, ( FPS cap around 40!!!) , if I try high quality FPS are around 25!!!
Is it possible that with this hardware ( a 2000 € configuration) I am not able to play this game??
    Do I need a NASA supercomputer😂??
Maybe there are problems I have not considered?
    All drivers are updated.
Thanks for your attention and sorry for my bad English.

DRM is a big issue but many reasons behind poor performance is game optimization. Also, XBox doesn't run countless programs / apps. I'm no fan of consoles simply because they require the use of cheats to simply match PC users with a keyboard and mouse. For 2D games, they were ok. For things like Mario Cart, great... but games such as FPS have no place on consoles for the time being.

Some things can be done to improve FPS and I've been using this as a template to get 40+ on all triple A games which start on my 10 year old machine ( granted I am running a 1080 GTX Gaming X for my 4k 1ms monitor and a 750TI for my other monitors )... If you're running more than 1 monitor and only have 1 video card and you are getting poor performance: disconnect the other monitors while gaming.

Second, set shadows to LOW. Shadows are among the most expensive to process.

disable motion blur - this is more of a preference as games get this wrong, every time.

if you are still having issues with performance, lower all settings relating to re-rendering the frame such as the filtering options, AA, etc...

As for everything else - keep it in ULTRA / Native format. A big problem I see frequently is people setting textures to Low which typically isn't a native option meaning larger files need to be opened, and processed and the original files aren't released and / or the downsized files aren't cached leading to more in memory than what would've been had the textures been left at native resolution ( native to the game - and the game will downsize from a higher / native size rather than store each size individually but some do that too to help performance at the cost of disk space / overhead )...

There are other features which may be unique to a game which may affect performance such as DRM viruses / malware which can greatly impact paying customers performance while being removed from pirated versions - but there is good news. If you paid for access to use the software, then under Federal Law, and you'll need to consult with an attorney yourself or form your own opinion, you have the right to make a backup to guarantee the access to that software isn't hindered. That means you can copy a DVD to ensure a scratch doesn't block your licensed access, but it also means if DRM is blocking your access and the company has made no attempt to correct the issue, despite the DRM being cracked, then you may download a crack to ensure your access to that software isn't hindered...

The problem is, many cracks come with malware, viruses, rats / trojans, etc... so it isn't recommended.

But, it is disgusting to know that people who don't pay have a better experience than those who do - it is why I'm against these intrusive malware / virus style DRMs - simple DRM such as binding a key to an account with verification to ensure the account isn't compromised is ok in my eyes, but something which kills performance, runs in the background 24/7 even if the game isn't running or, and I've seen this is many cases, where the DRM Malware remains on your system after the game has been removed is a very large problem because it will continue to scan your machine, steal resources and power from you while trying to perform other tasks. I don't know if that's what this DRM does which is in these games, but if it is the case it needs to be fixed.

To anyone who has problems with stutters, lag, etc here are some general tips (valid for other games also)
1 - disable fullscreen optimizations (click on shortcut icon -> compatibility tab -> untick box "fullscreen optimizations")
2 - set GPU to full performance through Nvidia Cpanel (or AMD catalyst center)
3 - set max. prerendered frames to 1. It helps to alleviate CPU stress
4- if advices above did not help, try to set game to High Priority through task manager - it is set to normal by default

Ubisoft, please, give up Denuvo or implement this DRM in the correct way. I have both Origins and Odyssey. Origins work a lot worse on the same hardware with the same settings. Origins is almost a year and a half now - maybe it's worth giving up Denuvo in favor of increasing the game's optimization. Consider it please.
