Hi, just thought my experiences might help someone (V1.0.3) Sli 980m. i7 4920. The first time I run the benchmark it was stuttering all over the place. I saw that the second card was only serving Physx and was downclocking. I set the cards to prefer max performance so no downclock. Voila, no more stuttering.
Now the 100% GPU in menus. I saw that the temp was climbing and after around 10 mins in the menu it got so hot it started downclocking. (86c when 'normal' gaming it runs in the mid 70's). It seems the primary card goes into runaway in the menus, even switching out of the game leaves it running full blast. Simple fix for me, turn on V-Sync. Now the machine actually cools down in the menus. Hopefully Sli may appear sometime but I doubt it (please be wrong!). Seems Sli is a dead technology with all the XXX games not supporting. I have had Sli rigs for many years but this will be my last

They say:
I say, no visual difference since game launch still the same down to 60% GPU usage and constant 100% CPU usage in benchmarks.System
- Improved performance and stability
Difference between tests is just a margin of error.
Specs:
i5 6600K @ 4.4. delided under Arctic liquid freezer 240 (push-pull)
16Gb of Trident Z 3200MHz CL14
MSI GTX 1080Ti Gaming X
Game installed on Crucial MX100 512Gb
Windows 10 x64 installed on Crucial MX200 256Gb SSD
This is absolutely stupid Ubisoft. I have a mid-high end (£1000) PC, and this game still drops to 50fps in cities, using 100% cpu at 1080p.
My specs:
Ryzen 5 1600 - stock cooler - doesn't go above 65 celsius, so no thermal throttling
16Gb corsair 3200 MHz lpx vengeance RAM
250Gb wd blue SSD
1tb seagate 7200rpm hard drive
Gigabyte Aorus gtx 1080
cx750m psu
The ryzen 5 1600 is a multi-threaded beast, which everyone knows. However, on this game, ALL TWELVE THREADS are at 100% in cities. All 12 threads. This is absolutely insane. A mid-high range cpu which came out this year shouldn't be bottlenecking a titan xp, let alone a 1080 or 1060. I'm actually quite disappointed in the lack of optimisation / inclusion of DRM which is causing such shocking performance. Frankly, the fact that you recommended an fx-8350, which is far weaker (40-50% weaker according to userbenchmark) for users is really disappointing, and it's a real shame that a game this fun and enjoyable (seriously, when it's at 60fps, it's great to play) is held back by shoddy business decisions.
Man, you just gotta love how every PR rep that was previously in this forum just started straight up ignoring you guys and all the DRM caused CPU issues.
They cherry picked the posts that weren't as critical and gave them a half assed response and just left everything else by the wayside.
I was having the same CPU issues and got my refund.
I'm not buying this unoptimized piece of trash again until it's fixed.
This is my third time posting here, I've contacted support, scoured the internet, changed every setting, re-installed windows, spent €600 buying a new graphics card, deleted almost every possible conflicting program and this program STILL runs terribly on my PC. This game is not working. There is constant stuttering and FPS drops below 30 in cities.
I have a GTX 1080, Intel i7 6700K @4.5GHZ and 16GB of Corsair Vengeance RAM. I don't have problems with any modern release of a game except this. I can't even maintain 40FPS on 720p and Ubisoft still won't respond, offer a refund, or help me in any way.
This is an absolute disgrace. My CPU usage is at 100% constantly, my temperatures are way higher than they should be, and my playing experience is a chore. Every time I sit down to play the game I have to shoulder constant stutter on any settings.
Please do something about this. I spent money to be able to play this based on the promises Ubisoft made. If I don't get a response I will be taking legal action against the company to get my money back or finally see some sort of change on PC. We all know the DRM is the issue, nothing else could cause 100% CPU usage. So as a customer for 10 years, please, please, please stop lying to me.
I have the exact spec as you, so thought I would see if I can help. I limit the FPS to 60 in game and it maintains this pretty consistently, so your performance is very odd indeed.Originally Posted by StraySeeker Go to original post
Could you try reverting your CPU to stock speeds and voltages, turn up your fans to max, remove any GPU overclock, and run the game at your native resolution but with graphics turned to minimum? The results would be interesting to see compared to my performance.
Also, close any CPU or GPU monitoring software (and any other non-essential software while your at it - including mouse+keyboard software, audio software etc).
Whilst I can achieve higher FPS than 60, I only find the game is smooth with in-game vsync turned on, in-game refresh set to 60Hz (even though I have a 144Hz Gsync), and in-game FPS limit set to 60.
Im running this game on..
- MSI Z270 Gaming Pro
- i7 7700k
- ASUS GTX 1080 Advanced
- G.Skill RipJaws 16GB DDR4 (2x8GB)
Installed on a Samsung 850 Evo SSD.
Only playing on 1080p Resolution but on Ultra High Settings (preset)
Fullscreen, Vsync turned ON.
My CPU Usage caps out at 100% - especially noticeable in cities.
While i have most of the time 60 FPS outside cities - in cities it drops to like 30-45.
Your Ingame Ressource Monitor is pretty bad btw. Doesn't show the correct values.
Task-Manager shows me 100% CPU and GPU, while the Ingame Monitor comes along with 17%. Lol.
