According to Wikipedia,
"The word "shaman" probably originates from the Tungusic Evenki language of North Asia. According to ethnolinguist Juha Janhunen, "the word is attested in all of the Tungusic idioms" such as Negidal, Lamut, Udehe/Orochi, Nanai, Ilcha, Orok, Manchu and Ulcha, and "nothing seems to contradict the assumption that the meaning 'shaman' also derives from Proto-Tungusic" and may have roots that extend back in time at least two millennia.[3] The term was introduced to the west after Russian forces conquered the shamanistic Khanate of Kazan in 1552."
and is defined by Dictionaty.com as,
"(especially among certain tribal peoples) a person who acts as intermediary between the natural and supernatural worlds, using magic to cure illness, foretell the future, control spiritual forces, etc."
Now looking at the character art of the shaman in For Honor I see nothing that resembles a Shaman. time will tell if she has moveset that resembles attributes that one could attribute to a shaman, but even then they probably should have chosen the word druid as it fits in better with that region.
What we got is a fantasy setting mixed up with some superficial reallife facts, the problem starts by calling a class of he viking faction a shaman while we already got the berserk. Who is a shamanic warrior. if you refer to the poetic edda. Related to the trailer, class description and the movement of the character we maybe just get a so called ulfhednar or wolve warrior as second shamanic warrior. So why they call it shaman no one can tell us.
and where did those Native North Americans come from? Northeast Asia. History,,,Originally Posted by gj4063 Go to original post

We have seen literally five seconds on her if that and people are judging lol. I personally dug Huntress as a name but we get to see more next week and on the 11th, so Shaman might make sense yet. Either way just of the first look, the feral aspect to her, she might just be my new rep 7 project, gladiator I tailed off with after a couple.
