So first I lose all items/gear inventory on the Ambush at Sea quest. Now on Blade of the Goddess I get to defend Caesar and I have no bow to use, I then get a stick with only 1 to use.
I throw it at the elephant, he smashes the chariot and de syncs us every time.

What the ever loving ****?

I bought the Gold Edition, I paid for some micro transactions cause I love the AC series.

I have verified the game files. I do not have a slouch for a machine.

I have 27 hours in the game, level 32 this far in and now I cant go any further!!

Did everyone experiencing this issue also lose their progress on the Ambush at Sea mission?

You're not able to progress as you can't stop the elephant due to not being able to shoot arrows?

Let me ask you a question to all of you....
Do you people have any idea how to play the game ? I mean seriously... I passed this scene without problems on 1st try and i know for sure it's not a bug (my gut tells me)
Your main purpose is to drive back the elephant, shoot many arrows in his head or legs until Bayek runs out of arrow and start throwing spears, throw them in his head to drive the Elephant back until Caesar reaches the Reach High Point and the cinematic is triggered ....

VOILA !

PS: Your items are locked during that entire Quest, you get basic items on both Bayek and Aya. Once you finish the quest and you go back in Open World, your items are restored

Do we know how to play the game?

We do not get to use the bow during mission, when the mission starts and I'm in Caesars chariot I now have a spear to throw and only 1. Not enough to keep the elephant back.

Also I cannot abort the mission as the option is grayed out.

To answer the ubisoft guy, yes for me anyway I lost my stuff on Ambush at Sea, now I'm having the issue with Battle of the Nile Portion of the mission in question.

Same problem here:
In the first try I had a bow with arrows from the start.
After I reached the elephant for the first time, I shot all arrows and I then got the spears because of "bayeks idea".
But then I died and now I can't finish the mission as I'm always starting with only one single spear to throw from the beginning of the ride while the bow is completely gone!

I tried to press all keys to get another weapon, I reloaded the savegame, I restarted the game, I restarted the computer, I repaired the files of the game and I tried to reset the mission goal, but nothing helps! The mission/savegame is broken.
It's impossible to progress the game right now.

PS: Patch 1.03 changed nothing (I know the bug is not in the list of fixes)!

ulquiora4 .. i think we can play the game if we have got so far in the game. and if you read Peoples issues before you talk. u see that we DONT have a Arrow to use, only one spear to throw. AND thats it..

Ubisoft. The ambush at sea mission didnt have any lag or bug whit me, only this mission whit Julius caesar.. And thats the first bug i have seen on my 20 hours playtime...

I don't know which it is. Could it be both? Because I actually started out with my Light Bow and had about 12 arrows, then once I ran out of my arrows, I wasn't able to switch to my other bow. After speeding on the chariot for some time and the Elephant spawned, I was still defenseless. When I died, I was put at the start of that mission where we began to ride again, collectively attracting more soldiers, I got the spear. Well once I threw it, it didn't kill nor damage the soldier I threw it at. It was a direct hit for sure because the soldier literally rode up next to me with margin of error missing it. So then I died to the Elephant once again, started back, and so when I got to the Elephant this time I kept my spear because maybe the spear would one shot the Elephant...Nope, was still the same situation. Threw the spear at the Elephants head nothing happened. Clear line of sight.

So honestly, I'm a little furious. We should be given the ability to save and load whenever at any point. It makes these situations much smoother.
Hopefully we will get a hot fix soon. I was enjoying the game a lot.
