They're definitely a bit over the top. The symbolism in each isn't lost on me, nor the fact that Bayek is seeing them off to the Duat. Still, these guys are overly animated for my tastes, considering that they're generally gargling their own blood or have an arrow through their skulls.
My favorite death scenes are those in AC Unity. These "outside of time and space" scenes are okay, but always were a bit silly. The idea that Arno's eagle senses allowed him to snatch a few flashes of memory from his target seemed both better thought out and somewhat lore-friendly.
I wish Unity's launch had gone smoothly. There are so many great things in that game that were immediately abandoned because of its reception and the fact that few ever really played it enough to appreciate its nuances.
