    American Flag

Here is my opinion which I would like to share but not debate as everyone is entitled to their own.
I have served in combat and carried fallen comrades draped in the American Flag and can not play a game that disrespects their memory in good conscience. To further put it in perspective, imagine the negative press if a modified version of the LGBQT Flag had been used.
I am a big fan of the Far Cry series which is why I took the time to share my opinion. Ubisoft creators, please consider changing the villain's flag so that it no longer resembles the one that I have been serving under for over 20 years.

I also don't understand this type of perspective. It seems realistically like a methodology the cult would employ, and I'm sure that is part of the reason Ubi're doing it. The cult is using the guise of religion to prey on the people susceptible to that, they're using their altered flag to do the same for the "patriotic" element of the population. There isn't exactly a huge LGBT community to try to rally to their cause in the setting the game takes place in, so that example really has no bearing here. Having such materials in the game in no way compromises the memory of the fallen comrades you speak of, nor is it an anti-patriotic sentiment from my point of view, it is simply the cult employing symbolism in an effort to convert & subjugate a population that would respond to those ideals. Even if I did think such a thing was in some way insulting, I think using the symbol of the actual american flag would be more insulting.

I honestly don't respect people who get rewards for acting opposite of what's moral. I'm not criticizing the soldiers per se but rather the government who takes virtual funds, that will be paid by the unborn, to deploy killing machines.

Well first, thank you for your service. I can sort of understand your frustration. Perhaps there are two American flags. The original which would be seen in various homes in neighbourhoods. And the modified version for the cult which would be seen on their cars and any places they have taken over. In addition to this, the Canadian flag be added 😁, at least for map editor.

I am confident that I speak for most American combat veterans when I say that we will not force false patriotism on anyone. We will also not attempt to justify our values or waste our time debating people with a different world view. However, if you sell a product that is in conflict with our values, we won't buy it.
My only goal in posting here is to convince Ubisoft that it would be a good business decision to change the flag. Thank you for your time!

As far as I can tell, there are 3 flags:

    1. the Cult flag
    2. the 'normal' USA flag
    3. the 'Cultified' USA flag

The church has #1 and #2 up (verified using http://i.imgur.com/aRMmCnZ.jpg)
The 'cultified' one is draped over the various 'last supper' artworks, i.e. https://static.trueachievements.com/...ges/065697.jpg

I am curious how a fictitious flag, in a videogame about a fictitious cult in a fictitious county in Montana somehow conflicts with anyone's values though?

I'm a lesbian. I would have absolutely no issue whatsoever if they used the LGBTQ+ flag. This is a fictional cult using the flag for their own means. The fictional cult is disrespecting the flag. Not the player, not Ubisoft.

Right? My only issue would be how random it was that they were using an altered flag for that, because in the context of the game it would make NO sense. It would make no sense to have an altered version of anything other than the american flag. This cult are using small town religion & patriotism to manipulate & win over the locals. They've created their altered flag as a combination of those ideals. I can't say I understand how that can even be perceived as offensive to values, or memory or anything really, not only because this is just a videogame, so who cares, but I mean, even if it was going on for real... I guess I've never served in the armed forces, maybe they really instill some sort of patriotic fervor in people, but dang man, people get triggered by anything anymore...
