    Disgusting and toxic community behaviour

    Hello Ubisoft/For Honor players,

This game started off quite nicely, with a decent chilled out playerbase. However, in the space of 2 days I've had two separate occasions of racist abuse, and just general ******baggery during games e.g. "PLAY IT MY WAY OR YOU'RE AN IDIOT" type stuff. I swear one guy was about to call the police unless my team mate stopped holding a point in Dominion, it's the most ridiculous thing I've ever seen.

What the hell happened? When did it become okay to tell people "i hope you get cancer" and call them "n****er" etc during a match? Yes yes, you'll all tell me, "welcome to the internet" but have our standards dropped so low that racism is literally now the FIRST thing you resort to when angry? Take a good long look at yourselves...For Honor is a game.

Sorry but I came to have fun, not be berated based on my (percieved) skin colour and/or religious affliation.

Please do something to ban players who have this kind of s****y attitude from ruining it for the decent human beings still on here (however few we are. I have done my bit by submitting reports to you (including screenshots), and I would hope this will be swiftly dealt with.

    Thanks.

Im sorry to say but Homosapiens (humans) tended to be at each other's throats since we invented war. It's just our instinct now to be inflamed at something competitive. I'm sorry you run into this. I hate it when I run into this. But always remember, the ones that hate shout louder than the ones that love.

Oh yes I’m well aware of humanities propensity for violence. That’s not my point. My point is that Ubisoft needs to do more to stop this kind of toxic behaviour.

At the least it ruins the fun for people that arent unpleasant pieces of crap. At the most it puts people off when this sort of thing gets normalised.

It shouldn’t be okay to be abusive because you lost a round on a game. I’ve played loads of multiplayer games but honestly the level of nastiness in For Honor is quite astonishing.

What platform I.e. PC, PS4 etc. do you play on? As normally on PS4 i'm either in party by myself (that way I don't hear anyone else and they don't hear me) and only once or twice have I been sent a message of 'hate'.

Also you can report these players for offensive language etc.

Er...yeah got to agree to disagree there.

It's not people making jokes and other people getting offended here. I'm talking about straight up, blatant racism. there's nothing "funny" about it. A slightly off colour joke among friends is one thing, but telling people to kill themselves, hoping they get cancer and calling them racial slurs is quite another.

    I play on PC.

For Honor has little to no support for avoiding players like on console, there's no "block player" or "recent player" option. Trust me after that load of nonsense I have considered silencing my text chat, but I'd rather not as communicating with people is part of the game. Yes I do "ignore" them, but it doesn't half get annoying after a while.

I'm not at all shocked by crappy behaviour on the net, what I am shocked at is how much toxicity there is in this game. It also seems to be on the rise, like it's been taken over by bratty, racist teenagers in its entirity.

    Hey,

whenever I encounter such a pathetic individual (may he/she insult/harass me personally or anybody else) I take a video or a screenshot and send it in with the official report form. I am not sure what they are doing further down the road, but I at least never had to see these odd people again thus far...

It is quite some work to do so and hence a high barrier to take. But maybe it works. Would be nice to get some final feedback such a case though so that I know that they seriously take care of things (what more often than not you feel they don't).

We absolutely investigate these reports and punish players who engage in the kinds of behavior described by OP. There's no place for it in For Honor.

Slanosaur88, I'm sorry you've had to play FH with players who were this toxic. I do encourage you to send any video/screenshots of the incident to our customer support team at https://support.ubi.com . I'll make note of your suggestion for a "Block Player" feature. The feedback is much appreciated!

    Hi UbiInsulin,

I agree with some of the people here that a response saying the person has had (AT LEAST) a temp ban if not a perma ban would make it feel like you're doing something significant.

I also appreciate you taking the idea of a "block/avoid player" option, might I also suggest a "recent players" option to find people you would like to add as a friend?

Gotcha, thanks! I can't make any promises about communicating the results of behavior/cheating investigations, but I will pass your feedback on. We consider the results of these investigations to be a matter of account privacy.

I'll also let the team know about the "Recent players" suggestion, which sounds like a solid potential addition.
