Black Screen / Freeze at End of Match: We need your help | Forums

Ive played on PS4 from start untill start of season 4 when i started to play on my PC.
Lately after the patch before x-mas the game freezes for me something about every 4:th game if im lucky but its mosly becuase of people leaving the match just at the end or towards it when the sync issue accures.

Honestly im really tired if having to restart the computer because i cant even restart only the game threw the task manager.
Im hoping that the dedicated servers will solve this issue if not im probably not gonna continue with this abuse taking this much stress and irritation just because the game crashes all the damn time.

UBISOFT fix your damn game or it will reach its end if you keep on this path.

When the black screen occurs, do you hear the audio running behind it, or is it a true freeze?
all sound is there and i can move but the game does not end. happens almost every third match

When it happens, are you playing in a group or solo?
Group or solo doesnt matter.

When exactly does it happen in the match?
In the end when all is killed, and usually combined when people just leave.

No idea if it is connected but:
When I have for honor loading/MM open and do Youtube/Twitch video maximize on 2nd screen - system with for honor freezes and is not responsive to any input but sound is running and can hear ingame music or twitch/youtube going on. PC reboot is required and never waited over 2 min to try get back responsiveness.

I am not sure if my issue is known, google says GPU drives - will try changing version and let you know soon.

i5-4690k and R9 290

If needed I can provide more details and full system info, I am too lazy to do it now.

I haven't made any tests to confirm possible root of this issue, just trying to live with it for now.

Update: Occurs during ingame loading,even after into.

3. Hard to say, sometimes it doesn't happen at all, sometimes it's 2-4 times in 10 games.
4. I have two, ONE: with sound, everything moves but I can't, SECOND: it freezes everything and I need to restart the game.
5. Usually I play with my friends, but it happens in solo games too.
6. Always at the end of the game.

Tried to completely reinstall the game, forwarding ports, nothing works and im starting to get really angry...

I know it sounds obvious,but try to fully reinstall the game.It really helped me(my last suggestion was not helpful),i forgot about frezee at the end of the matches.I think(IMHO) problem was in New Year patch installing,cause i havent that issue before it.

If you alt+F4 out of For Honor, it doesn't properly terminate the process.

I actually have an AHK setup...

!^e:: powershell.exe get-process *honor* |stop-process

so... when I know for honor is fugged, I just hit ctrl+alt+e and it runs powershell to terminate the process. This makes it so i don't actually have to reboot. you can just open powershell and run get-process *honor* |stop-process if you don't have AHK and don't want to make a hotkey.

.The Freeze happens in 1v1 and 2v2 's in beetween the rounds then the black screen pops
It mostly happens in 1v1 and 2v2 , so the game modes where there are black screens beetween the rounds , and i have to use task manager to close For Honor
I know the Freeze is going to happen if the audio cuts off in the black screen beetween the round , if i can still hear the audio the freeze doesent happen
The isues and freezes happen every 2 or 3 matches

I hope u find this information ussefull and try to fix it soon cause its making the gaming experience unbearable .

3. Happened twice today while playing Test Your Metal
4. I hear audio running in the background. Cannot exit game. Have to restart pc.
5. Solo.
6. After a round ends.


I wrote an AHK script to force close it when it happens:

!^e::Process,Close,forhonor.exe

Keep it running in the background, and pressing alt+ctrl+e should close for honor. Someone posted a different script above but it didn't compile for me.

Okay, so I've played all day today and I got only 1 crash. Then I put a lot of virtual memory (10 to 20 GB) and crashes stopped BUT after a while the game started to stutter a lot, after every single action, like switching a screen in hero management section or simply navigating menus. So I think this is a memory leak. Devs, I've narrowed it down for you, look it up and fix this 1 yeah-length bug already!

I'm quite angry af to be honest.

So the thing is that when I was testing dedicating servers few months ago there were none black screens after round finish.

Sooo I had my hopes up.

If I'm right and dedicated servers are already up and running in ,,normal" game than I regretfully inform everyone that this doesn't solved this bug.

1 year guys. You have one job. This is seriously ridiculous
