Just made couple first tries of this ghost war and the first question that comes to mind is who is the mastermind who thought team balancing isnt important in pvp. Its basically impossible to level your character when your against prestige players and get killed withing your first steps. I guess i should known by know that Ubisoft never cared about such things and proper server or team balancing

So in your opinion it is fine to put lv1 players against the prestige ones? Wouldnt it more enjoyable when the teams were balanced, right? But i guess i was wrong from judging from your amazing post

The team has already made some changes that should improve matchmaking fairness. Sorry you were matched with much more experienced players, but this may have been based on their MMR. We'll continue to keep an eye on the situation.

Matchmaking

Not part of the patch, but this has also been improved server-side and is already effective: Matchmaking. We saw the debates going on about the difference of levels in matchmaking and had a closer look at our matchmaking criteria.

The reason why the game matches players with different levels together is because matchmaking is done based on players’ Match Making Rating instead of level. MMR is basically a value representing the player’s skill and goes up and down depending on their win/loss ratio. At level 1, because the players haven’t won or lost a match yet, they are assigned a default rating value upon which we apply our MMR calculation algorithm (based on the Glicko-2 rating system) depending on round outcomes and also their own team’s and the opposing team’s MMR.

Before our fix, the starting MMR was higher than the average MMR of all the players, which translated into high chances of matching a level 1 player with a much higher level player. We already implemented a fix for this, meaning we lowered the starting MMR value below the global average MMR. With this fix, there will still be a chance for a level 1 player to match with higher level players, but their skill will be significantly lower, so matches will be more balanced.

I've taken screenshots of me facíng a team with 2 prestige 10, à prestige 5 and a prestige 4. My team included 3 level 1 and me, a prestige 1. They moped the floor with my team. That has been the worst missmatch I've been in, but there are others following close.

Really i never saw worst team balancing than in Wildlands. Seriously: 1 prestige lvl < 10 lvl noob player...

Why prestige levels are outside ballancing lol.

My match 10 minutes ago:

My team: 21 lvl, Prestige 1, 49 lvl, 10 lvl.
Opposite team: 10 prestige, 10 prestige, 5 prestige, 4 prestige.

Its a joke...
