Clarification on Drones in Ghost War

I need some clear info about this. What is the point of scout drone if mortar drone and recruit drone can also mark enemies? Mortar outshines them all adding the mortar strike. What is the main difference and advantages of these three drones?

    Thanks in advance

Scout drone has movement indicator built into it, and much better range/lifespan than recruit drone.

Mortar drone does not have the movement indicator, and I believe has shorter range and lifespan than scout drone (I could be wrong on this, but seems that way).

I believe the re-use timer is shorter for the scout drone too. You get to use it more often.

Yeah, shorter cooldown seems true as well for scout.

So Scout drone is same as Recruit drone but has shorter cooldown and longer battery+range. Also it can detect moving targets where the Recruit one cannot.
Mortar drone is as same as Recruit drone just in addition to mortar strike.

    That it guys?

    Scout drone is definitely correct.

I don't use Artillery yet, so can't comment on Mortar drone just being recruit drone with Mortar ability. But from watching others use it, it seems like its battery and range is between that of a Recruit Drone and a Scout Drone.

Recruit = trash. I don't even bother hiding from them really anymore, well going out of my way to hide, besides normal smart cover.

Scout Drone = Best at Finding enemies (also, if you see a Scout drone in the air, stop all movement. If you move at all, within 110m of the scout drone, you will be spotted). Best to go prone and hold still, unless it is really far away. FYI - movement indicator works through cover too...like on people in buildings, behind, rocks, etc.

Mortar Drone = Can spot, but lacks the movement tool of the Scout drone, so not the greatest at spotting. However, mortar strike is great zoning tool. Playing against more experienced players, you will rarely get kills with a mortar strike. There is a "thwump" sound that means start moving, to the those on the receiving end of the mortar strike, even before the red circle shows up. So against experienced players, we know when it is targeted, and when to start moving to never get hit.

Medic Drone = Can spot, but lacks the movement tool of the Scout drone, so not the greatest at spotting. However, medic revives are awesome. Also, medic can revive more than on person per drone. So, if two down, and you have the battery for it, you can fly to both players and revive them.

Diversionist = No spotting ability, but drone is completely invisible to enemy team. Can still manually ping though, which makes it a great way to point out enemies without them knowing. Of course, has no movement indicator built into it, so need to rely on the old eyeballs to do the pings. Can create a poor mimic of SMG fire; in theory this will cause a distraction for enemy players, but you get used to the one sound it makes very quickly. Also, many people using Diversionist have it flying high in the air, and the sound still makes gunfire markers, so it is obviously not a player floating in the air. The Diversionist drone needs to be used near ground to be an effective tactic, imo.

I would like to add one tip that can be helpful using the Mortar Drone. You can place the center spot of the Mortar very strategically and create more trouble and death for your opponents. What I mean is that say in the Quarry map where everyone is pretty much pinned, you do not place the center of the mortar drop on the player, you can place it well behind him and perhaps to one side if the other side is the wall. This way the player/victim hehe, will either have to run forward into your sights or run a long way exposed to get away from the mortar blast if at all. they will die more often or expose themselves to gun fire. The same way for guys who like to snipe from the ridge in Deforestation map. Either they will have to run a long way to get out of the drop zone or forward into your gun sights. YOu can apply this tactic to any instance where there will be an advantage.
