New Helicopter control keys W and S reversed after patch 8 | Forums

I use the New configuration for helicopter control (W - forward, S - backward, A - bank left, D - bank right) and have noticed that since Patch 8 my controls for the helicopter are screwed up.

I like having my mouse Y axis inverse so that when I push forward, the view pitches down to the ground, and when I pull back, the view pitches to the sky. However, now that Y axis reverse ALSO changes the W and S keys, when Y axis is inversed, the W key makes me go backward and the S key makes me go forward. There should be NO REVERSAL of these keys in the MOUSE Y AXIS inverse.

I believe a fix is in order for this erroneous "patch".

yes i can confirm this affects "new" and "classic" helicopter controls.

Any updates on this? Game is almost unplayable or at least not enjoyable. I'm finding myself doing other things than playing this game until this gets addressed.

7 gb new patch and OF COURSE its not fixed. those guys realize they BROKE the helicopter controls???? yes? - with that "worked on the heli landing animation" patch. i mean
thats like from the long list of things to fix they suddenly decide to improve the cars HAND BRAKE animation and everyone drives backwards when pressing W.
i dont even wanna know how stuff like that can happen and noone notice before the patch gets released. so 7 gb 8.2 later i hope 8.2b or 8.3 or however this works ubisoft takes a look at this until then i dont wanna play because this bug is annoying and i dont get how they postone a fix. and please stop adjusting/improving animations of things if this is the baffling outcome at least till im finished with the game thanks

I emailed Ubisoft support, and they have a workaround. I just tried it and the helicopter controls work again!

You need to Invert the helicopter Y axis like you want, then go into Key Mapping, and swap W and S keys for forward and back under Helicopter Controls. Since the game makes it backwards, this makes it normal again.
