Keep it. It's fair-game!
Nerf it! (i.e. Limit it's usage/range)
Dump it. It's too OP!

Okay, so thermal vision is controversial at best, especially in the hands of the sniper and scout. It sucks getting sniped or marked within 20 seconds of the match at the same time, it's so "pro, bro" to headshot players that are lit up like x-mas trees from maximum range. It's starting to feel like the large maps are getting smaller and there's no place to hide.
Whichever side of the debate you're on, thermal vision is here and it is in play. So in the meantime, let's advance the debate and "bring some balance to the force" & share some counter-strategies versus "OP" classes using thermal vision such as the sniper and scouts.
Question: What do you and your team do to counter thermal-vision?
Please keep your response respectable. This thread is for legitimate counter-strategies to thermal vision so please refrain from the stereotypical trolling like telling the community to "get good" and "I am so elitz. You're bad kids" type of responses. Thanks
And before you go, please answer the poll: Thermal Vision too OP?
This title has some of the most dense vegetation and nicely rendered woods I've ever seen in a PVP setting, so I think thermal is fair game.
I wouldn't mind Ubi introducing a perk that makes you immune to thermal though. Honestly imo that's the fairest way to balance it.
The people that love thermal still get to use it and the people that really hate it get to avoid it, while still being vulnerable to things like the recon tower and scout drone if they're moving so that extreme camping can still be defeated because lets face it no one wants to play in a match with the guy hiding in a bush in his spawn every time, drawing the rounds out.
One thing I think would alleviate the thermal dominance is more urban oriented maps.
Seems like 80% of the maps in this game are a small town (5-6 buildings) surrounded by woods. However, on a map like Dust Town where there actually is a fairly large urban section, thermals take a huge hit in effectiveness because the buildings shield your enemies.
I would really love to see a few all urban maps come to the game. Lord knows we have enough forest ones already.
So far the majority want rid. Ubi have asked for feedback and thats what they are getting.Originally Posted by Harry-Taco Go to original post
