Hello! i have thought a lot about the Balance in this Game and how to improved, please note that everything i write here is just an Opinion. But hey when you take a lot of Opinions from a lot of People you have something you can work with right?
So everyone who reads this,please take your Time, and Post what YOU think what changes should be made/are needed, to our Heroes. Please also not that English is not my First Language and there will probably be many Mistakes in this Post. Oh and I also try myself at bit at Humor. Please don't kill me.
The Heavys and Vanguards
I`ll start with the Heavys in General, we got only 3 of them. They are good against Vanguards, but they have a hard Time against Assassins. How many Assassins are there? Well,... we have three Vanguards, one Heavy Hybrid and the Rest of the Cast Consists of Assassins and Hybrid Assassins.
We have enough Hybrids and Assassins already. Please I know I probably stand alone with this, but I would really like to see some new Vanguards and Heavys, Highlander is already a step in the right Direction. Well let me get onto the Heroes now. Also to reduce Light spamming, I'd suggest that everyone who is not part Assassin, in't interrupted by Assassin Lights/part Assassin lights anymore. That will make Assassins far more reluctant to Spamm lights since they don't like trades.
The Warden
Really now how many hours does this Guy polish his Armour so that it shines like that? His Shoulderbash Spamm used to cause much Grief, now you can actually avoid it. His Zone is also pretty nasty, but that is a good thing! Because if you expect it does nothing, other then draining half his Stamina. Right now I think the Warden sits in a very good Spot. I think he is,... I actually dare to use the Word: Balanced. Great Work.
The Kensai
Death in three simple Steps. Step one? Slash. Step two? Slash. Step three? Slash! Of course! Many People think the Kensai is Underpowered right now. Actually I don't understand why. He has an Unblockable, good feints, an actual Dodge Attack that only Assassins have. Many Kensais i've fought have been masters at Feinting and parry baiting. I wouldn't change anything on him. That being said there seem to be a lot of People that Complain about him being Underpowered, so you should probably look into what the Kensai Mains have to say.
The Raider
LEGENDARY! (Since the Buff he is that for real. ) He used to Underpowered. Then you put his Stampede Charge on Steroids and it was abused. Then you fixed it. Raiders strongest move his his Unblockable into stunning Tap Cancel. I think he does alright right now. Maybe look into his Stunning Tap, maybe my reflexes just suck, but I have never been able to Block it on reaction only if I predicted it. So yeah maybe look into that one. Maybe.
The Conqueror
I didn't chose the Conq Life. The Conq Life chose me. (Stolen) Yeah yep I suggested these Buffs before. Be mindful it's my beloved main, of course anything I say will be twisted in his Favor, I am aware. So yeah, hows Conq life going? Well Defensive? Good i'd say, nothing better than a nice Holdout against the Entire Enemy Team. Offense yeah well,... Newston we have a problem. The thing is Conqueror can't actually attack because most of his attacks are so damn slow that they get parryed almost anytime you throw something out.
Now what to do? Feint Feint like you life depends on it play the Mindgame, or Turtle up. If we are up against a quick Opponent (almost half the Cast), we can only play mindgames if he lets us. Because the fast Lights interrupt ANYTHING we do, doesn't matter what. Which means we are forced to Turtle up until we can parry. Oh and if we hit? We do the lowest Damage in the Game! To ad insult to Injury we are listed as a Hard Hitter. Now can you do something about it? Yes. More Damage Please, and faster lights. Buff us up to Warlord Lvl. That means we can Risk to throw a light every now an then, and that our Attacks actually hurt. You tell us were a “Hard Hitter” turn us into one! So yes in my Opinion Conqueror needs a Buff.
The Shugoki
STOP! STOP! NO I DON'T HUG ME!!! This Big Dude really needs a Buff, because he is slow as HELL. Now most of them time this isn't a Problem. Because when it comes to Attacks he just needs one hit, and about half of the other Dudes/Gals Health is just Gone. There are two things that need a Buff: 1. His Running Speed, buff it up to Warlord or Conqueror Lvl. The Problem is if you see 4 People charging at you from some Distance, even Conqueror and Warlord can leg it when they don't want to be drawn into a 1v4 (especially if your Team is just breaking in). With Shugoki you have no Chance. Also it takes Ages to get to Teammates to Help them. And unlike Conqueror and and Warlord he is not designed to take on three to four People at once.
The second thing that needs a Buff is his Dodge. It slow and has a Recovery frame about as wide as his belly. There are lots of Unblockable Attacks you can only Dodge and not parry. Hyper armor only helps a bit, since they can often be spammed/used in a Gank/done immediately, and sometimes guaranteed after a Light/Heavy Attack. (Yes I am looking at you Gladiator.) At Times this Turns Shugoki into free Lunch, and that just isn't fair.
The Warlord
Psst. Don't disturb him right now. He his grooming his Beard! The Nefhammer hit him Hard, but he is still going strong. Warlord has it all, but nothing that is overwhelming, they can be a Pain if they Turtle up. I would leave him like he is, but he should be watched closely. (Yeah as if you Guys wouldn't be doing that already^^.)
The Peacekeeper
PERI! Stop Stabbing me dammit! Here comes the Light Spam! Sorry, that was unnecessary. Well you already know her Lights are a Problem in Console. She goes at it just fine at PC. The only thing that really needs work is her Zone Flicker, but that's it in my Opinion.
The Orochi
SHINE! Could you please stop waving that Katana at me? I am trying to writ here. Light Spammer 2.0! Joking. Orochi is alright. He depends very much on the Basics of the Game, there is one move that needs some improvement though. Repitide Strike (or is it Storm rush?), where he jumps back and then Holds his Katana either in his right or left hand Storms at you and slashes you at the side where he held his Sword. That move very predictable, and not of much use. Give the Orochi the ability to cancel it into a Heavy, this would turn it into a fast, but risky move, and it wouldn't be trivial to block anymore.
The Berserker
VALHALLA! Sorry. I NEED BLOOD! Quiet you! Ahem where was I ? Ah yeah Mister Spin Chop here is fairly Popular despite being the hardest Class to play and Master in the Entire Game. His Zone is rather risky and has a problem, if the first strike is blocked it can be parried at the second and third strike. This Zone already eats about Half the Berserkers Stamina, and is punishing enough if blocked. In my Opinion this Attack should only be parryable at the First Strike.
The Lawbringer
I AM THE LAW. You are not Judge Dread, shut up! Just like the Shugoki I think the Lawbringer could use a better Dodge. He suprisingly fast for such a Heavy Character, but his slow Dodge makes him rather vulnerable to Unblockables that can only be dodged. It is not as bad as Shugoki, but he needs some Help here.
The Nobushi
Stab! Stab! Stabity Stab, and stab again! (Sing this to the Ryhme of All my little Ducklings). Jokes aside I think Nobushi is one of the best designed Hybrids in the Game. She has everything she needs, Range is her own Special thing, a kick Poison, I like it! She really tests her opponents reflexes, but that's okay. Don't touch Nobushi, she'll stab you and she is great!
The Valkyrie
I will fight for those who can't fight for themselves! Yeah Yeah, how about you put on some Spandex, call yourself a Superhero and call it a day? In all Seriousness. Look at Valkyrie. Take a good long Look. BE PROUD OF YOURSELVES and your Daughter, because Valkyrie is probably the most balanced Champion in the Entire Game. No really, none of her Abilities are to weak or too strong, even spear sweep can hardly be abused,. THIS is how you make a Balanced Class. So much Win Ubisoft! Thank you.
The Centurion
Captain! We need a Cutscene! Fear not Centurion shall come to your aide. You could hire him out to a Movie Company. The Nerf really hit home and fixed the worst of Centurions Issues. There are still a few minor ones that need to be fixed. The most Important thing is to remove the Cutscene from his fully charged Heavy, these miliseconds while the Swords sticks in your will kill you in a Gank situation. Please change so that it “only” does a lot of Damage like the Raider Zone for example, but doesn't make a cuscent, and doesn't combo. Improve the Unblockable Damage a bit in Exchange. What also needs a look at his his Jab, his Jab sends the opponent to the Ground if he is OOS (Out of Stamina), this gives the Centurion a mean advantage on OOS Punish, no one else but the Gladiator has. This isn't fair to any other hero, who all need a GB to throw someone to the Ground. I know you want to make OOS more “unsafe”, but this will only give Advantage to a few Heroes. Cents and Gladiators, can turtle how much they want if they are OOS, it's just everyone else that's kinda screwed.
The Shinobi
Nin Nin! Where the? What the? Get back here! The Shinboi used to be a Mayfly. Now he is a mayfly with two Lifes. The Health Buff was direly needed and now he Shinobi can actually survive in a 4v4. He is a High Risk High Reward character and neatly balance for the most part, but there is one thing that needs to go. His Cutscene after he pulls off a ranged Guardbreak, this has the same Problems as the Centurions Cutscene. Give him only a free Heavy instead after he made a ranged GB, the punish is a bit too strong right now and Cutscene has the same Problems as the other one already mentioned.. Other than that Shinobi is fine.
The Highlander
FOR SCOTLAND. Please. Stop. Please Stop Kilt Flipping! My Eyes can't take this!
There are some People who really want to BUFF this Monster. I say this Guy is good right now. Hard to play? Probably Yes, but with his huge range and Unblockables I have seen Highlanders devastated entire Teams if they knew what they were doing. I am by no means a Highlander expert, since there are People complaining, maybe he really needs a slight Buff? I wouldn't know where.
The Gladiator
ARE YOU NOT ENTERTAINED? No I am not. This Hero is a thief, and a shameless one at that. He stole EVERYONES Toys, and even brought a few new ones with him. He has Conquerors Side-Shieldbash, Peacekeepers Lights, Nobushis Poison, Centurions Unblockable Attack but faster, another custom made Toe Stab, and oh whats this an Unblockable Zone.
I rarely say this, (actually I do say it often.), but this Hero is OP. He has to many Options, and the best moves of many Classes in the Game. Right now I am suspecting some of you People have a Fetish for the Old Rome giving the best Abilities to the Roman Classes. Fortunately many options means also, that you need someone to use all this options correctly, unlike the Centurion, most of the Time you can't just spam away.
Still he is more Powerful then any other Hero out there. His Toestab is a special annoyance since it is guaranteed after a light Attack, and makes People fall down if they are OOS. He also has Stamina draining Attacks, and his Unblockable Attack also throws one down, if you are OOS while it hits you. All these options and Combinations are too strong. Also his Zone is guaranteed, zero Risk Damage, if you are too close to him. Zero Risk moves are just wrong.
I talked before about the unfair OOS punish Centurion, if he hits an opponent with his Jab while he is OOS. Gladiator is Ten Times worse. In one Duel against a bot, the chain went (I was OOS) as follows: Light Attack---->Toestab--->Light Attack--> Toestab/Unblockable Attack (hits you while you are still standing up). Rinse repeat until opponent is Dead or Glad is out of Stamina. Of course since only Glad and Cent have this extra OOS punish no one can punish Glad for Turtling when OOS.
Glad is already a Good hero but he has to many moves, and some which are Plain better than the rest of the cast. My suggestions: Remove: Unblockable Scewer Attack, the Poison and the Shieldbash, Turn the Zone into a normal Zone without the Unblockable part, so it can be parried and isn't free Damage if you don't stay at a certain range. Toestab should lose the Knockdown property if the opponent is OOS, and it shouldn't be guaranteed after a Light Attack. In Exchange give the Gladiator some showy Light-->Light-->Light, Heavy-->Heavy--> and Light Heavy mix up combos with some Feints already built into the Combos. I can see the Gladiator as a Combatant that uses his showy Style to confuse his opponents and find cracks in their Defense.
Phew. Yeah that was it. I hope at least the Gladiator part gets a quick look. Thanks as always for your Hard work Mods. Also I am interested in other Players opinions, post what do you Guys think?
hah, this seems assembled fairly. Little to much to take all at once, probably come back to it.
Few words though:
I (mostly) agree about Warden. I still want to see the move-set expanded, and (as a Warden main), I would dearly love to be able to feint a charged shoulder-bash. Actually, this requires it's own paragraph.
Ubi, over here--a mini-rant--a nice one. Now, charged shoulder-bash feint. It's very useful against turtles yes, and just in general, it's a useful addition and a nice way to force reactions, but it's also useful in team fights: in the time it takes to charge the SB something may happen (often does) with your team that means releasing the SB would ruin a GB, or mess up a punish. I don't think you understand how much I hate having that control taken away from me and hurting my team play. It reaches beyond a "nerf" and devolves into a really. fcuking. irritating. So yeah, please sort that out (just introduce massive stamina cost if it's feinted more than twice in quick succession).
