... do the LOGICAL thing.
Get all the statistical data you can from the players:
- Mission Incursion Failure Rate
- Average Completion time
Then DON'T NERF the fast missions or incursions but BUFF the ones that take longer and are harder. It makes absolutely NO SENSE that Russion Consulate with a multiplier rewards LESS per minute then Lexington for instance.
If you want people to play all your content, make ALL your content worth it FFS instead of nerfing a few.
Even back in the early days it made NO SENSE that this wasn't done yet. It makes no sense for new players that a mission that takes the average player 20 minutes gives him the same amount of Phoenix credits than a 10 minute one.
For once THINK.
For the first time ever, I decided to try this mission farming method just to get creds for classy sets. I am a solo not so good pve player, so I went for speed running certain missions. One of the best missions to speed run on hard is Amherst, because it is already short and you can almost run through the entire area to the final roof almost without firing a shot. Well let me tell you, I have never experienced such a mind destroying way to play a video game in all my life. How anybody can do this for any length of time is beyond me. I take my hat off to all those guys who sat and ran Lexington over and over for Barret's vest. I would rather sit and watch the fireplace channel on cable TV.
Now you guys know that I rant with the worst of them, but is this one really *this* serious? I think we've just been kicked in the pixelated nuts a bit too much lately with all the changes no one asked for.Originally Posted by Corrupt_be Go to original post
We can all agree that what we currently get for missions/incursions seems relatively fair. We can all agree that CS, Lex, Hudson and Amherst have typically been speed runs because of the TTClear. We can all agree that you shouldn't get as much for those as runs that take longer. We are all in favor of balance, right?
I don't mind this one at all. BUT I do agree with m'ack in that missions that are part of the playlist should not be nerfed.
The big problem here is that Massive doesn't play their own game. They learn this stuff from watching Youtube and reading the forums/reddit. They have no idea where the exploits and imbalances lay until we tell them. We have told them repeatedly that these runs are much faster than others, so why shouldn't they respond with a "nerf"?
Would you prefer they do something annoying like slow down the elevator? Add more narrative? Make enemy spawn rates slower?
There are many other paths they could take if you piss off the wrong people.
I also agree that the payout should reflect the effort. There is absolutely no way that Falcon Lost shouldn't payout at least 5 times what CS does. A "bad" team can clear CS in 5 mins. A "good" team clears FL in approximately 30-45 minutes. Their payouts should be nowhere near the same.
Let's not even mention SS, Leg Napalm, Times Square, etc.
And, let's not get it too twisted. There's very little they could do to prevent players from grinding whatever is least painful and pays the most. So it's not like the changes would cause us to play more varied content. We'd simply move to the next most painless run with the best payout.
I'm not saying Falcon Lost should necessarily pay out 5 times what CS is (difficulty also needs to be taken into account), but at this point we need to be incentivized to play EVERYTHING rather then only (less than) a handful of missions.
I feel forced to run specific missions in the GE and I'm literally bored of my socks running specific content on auto pilot. Massive their reaction: Remove the reason why people play X mission.
That's not how you do it Massive, give us a reason to do the OTHER missions, rather then to NOT do specific missions.
Exactly.Originally Posted by Corrupt_be Go to original post
The RNG is ridiculous and running faster missions helps ease that some.
Remove those missions and I'll quit. I won't play another mission. I'll just ****ing quit.
I understand the focus is CS incursion and I agree with the premise, but from the stand point of a played who doesn't run incursions often. I think it's incredibly ridiculous to nerf the rewards of any mission or incursion because the team can't even offer the same difficulty on all missions. Talk about cobbled together... how in the heck do you code difficulty to not be available across all mission types?! Threat mechanics are all over the map too.Originally Posted by Corrupt_be Go to original post
The mere fact that there's only so many legendary missions and only so many challenging missions is just amateur.
