    GB > Attack Startup? (UNANSWERED)

... not good at all. Not, uh... not... good at all...

I recently was made aware that a proposed update will make the first 100ms of EVERY attack have GB vulnerability.

Heavy attacks I kind of understand. They're big, slow... I can realistically see being grabbed at the windup there. Put 0-100ms of GB vulnerability on that, it's fine.

... but only for opening hits.

If the heavy is part of a chain? **** no! I don't want it to be vulnerable to grabs! And LIGHTS!? Light's shouldn't be Grabbable at ALL!!! What are you DOING, Ubisoft!?!?!?

Is it... is it just me? Am I the only one who sees this as a bad thing?!?

I mean, I kinda see blocking, attacking and grabbing as a rock-paper-scissors sort of thing. Scissors is your attack, Rock is your defense and grab is your Paper.

Why are you letting Paper beat your Scissors!?

~EDIT: I'll throw in this so nobody else has to ask where I heard about it.~

    o Guard Break
 All attack startups  0-100ms Guard Break vulnerability

    This IMMEDIATELY alarmed me.

Damn, if this is true I'll be upset.

I can accept the first 100ms of a Heavy, because I agree with you in how they are big and slow (some at least), and only on the opening heavy. If this happens during chains nothing but bad will come of this. My poor Lawbringer will never be able to land an attack, Highlander will become even weaker, and this just promotes GB spam, which a lot of people already have trouble with.

You should never be able to get Guard broken through a light attack either. It's literally punishing players for been offensive, the exact same as the defensive meta.
    What's your source on this?

are you for real? This is from over 2 months ago and just what was TESTED on the PTS. There is no information yet what the "defensive meta changes" eventually look like since it has not been reannounced yet after the official targeted release by the beginning of season 3 (other than "we are working on it")

    No.

It's NOT "fine" just because "they were only TALKING about maybe doing it". My complaint isn't "omg I can't believe they're doing this". It's "omg I can't believe they're even CONSIDERING this".

Yes I know the video is 2 months old and all these things are only on the PTR currently, but if you don't like this idea, you should still be upset that they're entertaining it.

The full change mentioned in the PTS patch notes:

    - All attack startups  0-100ms Guard Break vulnerability

This change makes attacks 800ms or longer safer, since they won’t lose to a Guard Break on read or reaction anymore. This also means the Feint > Guard Break sequence will not work against a baited Parry attempt.
We saw a good bit of feedback on this during the PTS, which is indeed what the PTS is for. Nothing is necessarily guaranteed to make it into the live build.

That DOES sound like a nice bonus, but doesn't this still mean that lights will be grab-able on startup?

I wish i could be more involved on the pts since console balance and PC balance can vary.
