Is it really hard to snipe, in this game, someone from 200m +?

I find it hard to snipe someone, normally a sniper in a tower... You know those towers seen with a long staircase... I do play this on extreme difficulty and today I was trying to snipe some snipers from 200m + and I could not seem to hit them. I was using the MSR with a silencer and the 6x zoom scope. I don't really have a preferred sniper rifle since I switch loadouts after some missions. I have unlocked the HTI, MK14, G28 and M40A5. I also have steady aim at level 3 and still having problems sniping from 200m +.

Is it hard to snipe from long distance? Or am I just that bad?

Your mileage may vary. Where are your bullets actually hitting, as opposed to the target?

This game has exaggerated bullet drop that you need to adjust for. It's easy enough to do yourself against a hillside using rocks or other features at various distances. You can use your binoculars to acquire the distance to those targets and then shoot and adjust as necessary. ....noting the elevation needed at each milestone (e.g. 200m, 250m, 300m, etc. Before you know it, you'll be making those shots almost instinctively.

For me, it got to the point that I knew where a bullet would land at each mil mark on a particular setup.

The bullet projectile speed feel so slow compared to other game.

It's not hard. It just requires you to get used to the calculation. Different sniper, different scope, different sniping altitude, different range = different calculation.

My suggestion is to pick and modify a sniper that suits your need, use your binocular, find an object (a rock, a tree, etc), read the distance shown in your binoculars, and try to shoot the object.

It's probably better to just use one sniper rifle (HTI) and get used to it with and without a suppressor. The ranged elite skill also makes a difference.

Although the bullet drop is exaggerated (the muzzle velocity is around a half what it should be) it is consistent. Allow for your elevation above or below the target as well.

It's not easy but I wouldn't call it hard either.
I use the HTI and have a good grasp on it. Hit 500+ meter shots regularly. rarely miss.

Get some practice. Learn the difference in shooting uphill and downhill. Way less drop shooting downhill. Almost none. Always best to shoot from an elevated position if you can.

Not hard but not as normal as other shooters either... still don't know what the devs were thinking or trying to accomplish with this clunky, almost arcade-ish bullet drop. If the draw distance from the consoles is 400m I would think that the sniper rifles should be zeroed out at that distance and then we would need to adjust the mil dots accordingly for longer distances.

If you are telling me that this is a true mil-sim and we need to adjust the scopes for windage, elevation, coriolis effect, etc, etc. then ok, I would say we would need to spend a couple to a few hours practicing what each rifle and scope does but c'mon, this is none of that.

I know the devs already said they will not change/fix the enemy and the squad AI but this is a big part of the game, if not the primordial part of it... they should waste some time fixing this.

I think it's the easiest thing to snipe the sniper in a tower... And my favorite sniping distance is about 200-350m, with MSR Thermite or SRSA1 Black widow. You can snipe without suppressor in this distance and they won't hear you. And you can have a very easy aiming at walking hostiles since the bullet velocity is high without suppressor.

Does it behave the same (the MSR) at that distance when you are Suppressed? Perhaps therein lies the problem?

And yes, I have noticed that there are times I snipe the guy in the tower Unsuppressed and nobody seems to hear the shot.
