I think this has been posted before but I can't find it.
Is it just me or the sounds emanating from the enemies (and even bystanders) when you are roaming around are not exactly where you hear them? can this be because of my speakers or headsets?
Say I am walking north and I hear a sound from Unidad Soldiers or SBC 90 degrees East, itching to cap some baddies I go looking for them but they are no where to be found in the direction of the sound.
Other times I hear them (again, say at 3 o'clock if I am heading to 12 o'clock) and when I pull out the drone they are not even closely remotely in that location but ways on a different direction. I am not talking about them being 80 instead of 90 degree but more like 45 to 90.
I may be exaggerating a bit since I have no way of gauging distance or angles but I just want to know if this happens to other people and what do you do to adjust yourself to it because now, I just keep walking even if the desire to kill is there
Some other times, my teammates alert me of their presence and more times than not I don't understand what the hell they are talking about because say there are bunch of stack of tires nearby and not a single enemy nearby only to be capped by the dude coming out of somewhere else or spawning behind me so I don't know where they were exactly or I don't even see the stack of tires in the direction I am walking on. Sure, if I pull out the drone in time I may find a stack of tires in the middle of the town or to a side of the place we are waking to but it is annoying as hell.
Hmmm, not familiar with the lingo (DETECTION CLOUD) but let me explain a bit more in hopes that I can make a clearer point.
Playing on Extreme, all Xmas lights (markers?) OFF, even the blue dots that show my teammates is off as well (which btw I wish I could turn that on so I don't shoot them *******es when they appear out of thin air around a corner when they were behind me a second ago, giving me a heart attack or get hunted by the half clip I just unloaded on one of them). The only thing I have on is the Minimap to show me where to go when I am driving or flying to a mission or marked position on a map.
I am trying to have/use zero aids so I do depend a lot on the sound of the NPC and enemy for situational awareness and/or to get ready to rumble but I found my self lost because the sound emanates from a different place to where the enemy is localized. MOre times than not, I found myself shot because I am looking in the wrong direction and they see me way before I am aware where they are.
Also, that White/Red detection marker is confusing to me as well but that could very well be me no paying close attention to it until is to late. Perhaps I should allow them to kill me lots of times so I learn the angle of the marker fso in the future I could use it appropriately. Which BTW, can I turn that OFF as well?
There is a separate setting for just your teammates icons to show with no others I believe.Originally Posted by GiveMeTactical Go to original post
Me and my dad play this way as well and both of us have encountered enemy sounds emanating from directions that don't coincide with their actual location. It does make it very difficult when you hear someone let's say to your right, and you search and search just to find that they are behind you somewhere or hell I've noticed in the complete opposite direction. I think the surround sound in this game is severely broken, along with many other immersion breaking things...Originally Posted by GiveMeTactical Go to original post
Ahhh Ok, I do use the minimap as stated before and I do see the Rebels vehicles and persons (for lack of a better word) in Green, SB vehicles in Red and the Unidad vehicles in Purple but I do not see the dots for either of the enemies because I do believe that was the first thing I turned OFF.Originally Posted by AI BLUEFOX Go to original post
I actually DO NOT want to see where the enemy is on the minimap, I prefer not to because I rather hear them and seek them quietly to get rid of them or prevent them from coming behind me if the crap hits the fan on the mission.
Perhaps I need to take some time learning what the different options do.Originally Posted by Arkhaine Go to original post
Well, at least is good to know I am the only one with the issue.Originally Posted by Arkhaine Go to original post
Well, yes... plenty of immersion breaking bugs but I am hoping they prioritize the fixes for gameplay breaking mechanics, more so because they have already fix a whole bunch of other stuff that to me, were more eye candy.
