Is the Diversionist drone sound recognizable? Does it always sound the same?
If so, I'm afraid that veterans will start recognizing the sound of it especially if it doesn't change randomly, and become more wary of it.
My suggestion would be to make it randomized or something.
Yes, I am hoping the drone fire mimics a mix of at least x3 high calibur weapons starting with the mk249. It'd be nice to have selectable options of LMG, AR and Sniper Rifle sound profiles to deploy. A fixed sound profile like a stock SMG would do it's job and attract attention but I can see it's overall effect degrade as time goes by especially by experienced players/teams.Originally Posted by nicolas.rumet Go to original post
@UbiInsulin can you pass word that I'd like a drone that throws out holograms like so...
..?
What's a little bit of psychological warfare thrown in for good measure?

Yes, the Diversionist's drone sound is extremely unique and recognisable to the point that every time I hear it I think to myself, "Oh, ah, my every move is being watched by some pinging twit with an IR drone, good to know."
I very rarely play Diversionist myself, but when I do I either don't use the noisemaker at all or, in the last throes of my battery, I fly it off really, really, really far away and trigger the noisemaker so that the other team will see the little yellow gunfire marker but not be close enough to hear the distinct "rat-tat-tat" sort of sound.
You might fool someone that way every once in a while and get them going off in the wrong direction to hunt where they think someone is.
Mostly you just have to accept that the noisemaker is more or less useless and treat the class as a stealthier Scout, but since the Diversionist's drone can't mark targets you either have to have good communication with your team or hope they can make sense of your pings if it's a match where basically no one is talking to each other (common in quickplay).
I'm not sure what you mean. I replied to this thread too, back in October (if you scroll up a few posts).Originally Posted by MurdahDem Go to original post
As I said over on Reddit, the Diversionist seems to played more for the stealth aspect of the drone. It seems pretty powerful when used in this way.
