This is coming from a rep 4 Highlander,he is the "High risk no reward" type of warrior everything he does is EASILY parried or dodged even with the mixups but even if you hit it doesn't matter because your damage and the health are the same as assassins.
30 damage for a 1000 second heavy...seriously?
And even in his offensive form he only deals 30 damage if he manages to land a kick or toss which are both extremely easy to predict and dodge.
I'd be totally fine with a buff or two on that guy. At least on PC where you can actually block him with some success even if he hits you once. I would like to see the kick-guaranteed heavy gone though. It is extremely frustrating to get kicked and then just stand there, waiting for that slowpoke to hit.
My HL is rep 11. He's kills noobs so easy I almost feel guilty. When you face better players who counter what you do, you are kind of ****ed. If a nerf to the parry really comes, it will buff all the slow attackers and attacking will not be as risky with the HL.
Giving him 140 health would be a start, maybe a little more stamina to make room for feinting. Else I think his kit is pretty nice.
doesnt really need a buff. i play him myself and he is basically a way stronger kensei. both are so similar in playstyle.
also OP is very misinformed about the damage he does and his second heavy is considerable fast.
another thing people say is that he needs more hp, wich is odd. no one wants kensei to have more hp and he has way fewer tools in his kit....
He's actually terrible, he's right next to kensei in terms of awfullnessOriginally Posted by SenBotsu893 Go to original post
This^^ all he needs is slightly more stamina for OS and a health buff. He may not be the strongest character, but I think a lot of the buffs people are calling for are partially due to lack of using his range in defensive mode. You have to understand this is as crucial for him as it is nobushi. When in offensive mode you HAVE to completely change your mind set. Your mind should shift with his stance and you also have to understand the fundamentals of dodge timing and tracking in order to fully get maximum efficiency out of your OS kit.Originally Posted by Tyrjo Go to original post
I see it all the time. Go to kick and instantly soft feint into grab before they've really initiated the dodge because that's what you're muscle memory is all about. Then instead of waiting for the dodge to go ahead and soft feint, you do it too soon because they haven't even started the dodge yet. People get so rapped up in feinting sometimes they simply act rather than react. HL is all about being adaptable and being able to change the playstyle based on match ups and stances.
HL has one of the best reaction kits in the game. Your opponent is running an assassin and is light spamming? Trade with unitnteruptables. Opponent is being predictable? Utilize your superior lights for 30 damage a piece. Opponent is turtling? OS feint game.
Everyone keeps saying his HA heavies don't trade well. If you find that to be the case then you need to shift the playstyle to tailor the match up. Everyone says his parry punish is awful, but if you can parry heavies consistently you can use superior lights rather consistently. In my opinion it's all about adapting. He just needs more health because he's a slow heavy, that health pool is pretty measly and his OS lights and feints just need a small stamina bump.
