I've been working on my MJ2 entry for a while now. The most challenging part is not to use any 3rd party mods. Somehow it's also the most rewarding. It is not exactly straight forward to come up with a generic, American looking prison with Himalayan assets. I still went for an overkill with a 3-story cell block. The biggest issue was to make sure AI pathfinding doesn't suffer. This included a lot of debugging with "invalid" navmesh sectors. I managed to fix all of them.
My primary goal is to come up with as realistic looking prison as possible with vanilla Far Cry 4 assets. I've also spent some time making sure there are multiple options to choose from when it comes to engaging the enemies. And for all the loot hoarders out there; you will not be disappointed.
Platform: PC
Type: Extraction
Objective: Clear your path through a prison complex and gear up & reach the extraction point.
Map status: Published

So far this has been an interesting experience. It feels like it's a constant battle between adding detail / randomizing repeating structures while trying to avoid overdoing it. Bathroom's a tough one for sure. There's a reason why I have yet to screenshot the showers. Thanks for the feedback!Originally Posted by TheSlimReeper Go to original post
I'm pretty sure steve64 was involved in porting a map from the XBox to the PC. I wonder if the process can be done the other way around.Originally Posted by C0MMANDERC0LS0N Go to original post
OH YEAH! Welcome back Janne252! Fun to see you entering the MJ2, ironically without a mod!
Unfortunately, my tests indicated that the exploit I'm using to get maps cross-platform on PC and PS4 won't work on the XBox. IF maps can be ported over (they are still mostly compatible), it'd probably require a modded XBox. My MapSwapper only works on PC & PS4.Originally Posted by Janne252 Go to original post
If there only was a way of updating a published map there'd probably be a beta version available. I can't believe this is still an issue..Originally Posted by Fallen-Champ Go to original post
My bad, apparently you "only" helped with enhancing the map in question (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ftZnwWnagD0). Thanks for the update.Originally Posted by Steve64b Go to original post
So far the AI's been working surprisingly well. Hasn't been easy though. At least we get a visualized representation of the navigation mesh..Originally Posted by GRAW2ROBZ Go to original post
Whoops, I should've worded it beter. MapSwapper does indeed port maps from PS4, PC and Xbox to PC and PS4. Just not TO Xbox.Originally Posted by Janne252 Go to original post
It's mainly used to port console maps to PC, and expand them with the bigger PC budget.![]()
Here's hoping the next one supports that natively. Great job getting the PC to PC port to workOriginally Posted by Steve64b Go to original post![]()
Hey! Getting the PS4 to PS4 was much harder - I don't even own one!Originally Posted by Janne252 Go to original post![]()
