    Showing controller input hints

I am trying to get For Honor to work properly with my Xbox 360 controller (connected via USB) and then later stream the game to my Steam Link and use that very controller.

I cannot currently make For Honor show input hints for the controller (instead of the keyboard). Also, I had to initially re-configure keybindings to make the controller work halfway properly in the first place. And this is in the simple-most setup, when launching For Honor from the Uplay client (not Steam). Is there anything that I am doing wrong? Shouldn't For Honor be able to recognize that I am using a controller and then give me the same key bindings / hints as, say, their XBox version?

    Shutting down Steam

Hate to answer to myself, but I got a bit further: I added the "/noxinput" flag and killed the Steam and Origin clients. Restarted the Uplay client, launched For Honor and what do you know: it recognizes my XBox 360 controller. Great.

Now I only need to get the rest of the setup to work. Ultimately, I would like to play For Honor on my Steam Link using either a PS4 controller or a Steam controller (I have both). As I understand, For Honor natively supports the PS4 controller.

So I tried to add the "-noxinput" flag to the For Honor short-cut in Steam, but ran into the same problem: when launched from Steam (or only having the Steam client running while running For Honor), the game does not recognize my controller, but only shows me the keyboard hints. I know that Steam has a key mapping tool and so does For Honor itself. But that is clearly inferior to a properly recognized controller.

Has anyone successfully configured my setup?

Using NVidia Gamestream / Moonlight instead

Thanks, but that wasn't the problem. I am using an XBox 360 controller. I think Steam is doing some nonsense with the controller mapping.

But... I figured that I will simply stream For Honor using the Moonlight app, which runs beautifully on my Android TV. This one does not mess up the controller mapping, does 4K streaming, does not need a clunky set-top box and can do H.265 encoded streaming. Altogether the much smoother experience than my Steam Link.
