What is a long range kill? | Forums

I've had two long range kills since day 1.
I just unlocked the achievement for Long Shot a few minutes ago. It is for kills over 400 meters.
I got two back to back kills at 880 meters to get that achievement.

I log off and back on and it still shows two long range kills.

So what is a long range kill?
Evidently it's less than 400 meters because I hadn't unlocked long shot but it must be further than 880 meters because the last two don't qualify.

Does the MSR not count?

My stats say the longest shot was 501 meters with the M240.
