i wish we could have some of the mechanics we could only find in the Ghost war mode but in the Campaign mode.
what do i mean?
things like this:
1) none regenerating health. health gets replenished, like ammo, in the supply crates. same with rebel assault - you can use a rebel ability once and get it back only after visiting a crate.
2) classes with some restrictions. If you dont pick a class with a drone - you dont get a drone. same with weapons - certain classes can use ARs (like the pointman or recruit) and all the ARs, and some cant. perhaps all classes could use SMGs and shotguns. Only snipers can use sniper rifles. etc. and only one main weapon per player. (you can still loot weapons from dead enemies).
3) spotting is temporary - if you spot an enemy his marker will disappear after a few seconds.
4) gun handling and aiming (the reduced accuracy) will be like in Ghost wars.
5) Special drones and perks to specific classes.
6) classes and weapons can be switched in ammo crates.
7) enemy shots will create yellow markers in the game world.
8) suppression fire by the enemy AI will effect the player.
etc etc
Am i the only one who thinks there are some great mechanics in the PVP that would work will in the campaign?
I think these are great ideas which make the game a lot more challenging. To me this is a good thing.
Adding a variety of classes also gives it more depth.
Similar suggestions have been given at least 1 year before the release of the final product.
However the devs want to keep the whole experience a little more welcoming to the casual gamer.
But I think it would be great to implement these ideas to Extreme difficulty.
That way, people who want to enjoy a more challenging game can use Extreme difficulty.
Along with those suggestions, I would like to add that limiting players to 1 primary weapon would also be a great challenge.
Edit: I'm glad you gave it a bump. I wouldn't have seen it.
It is an interesting subject to discuss, but a lot of the fans who have been giving similar feedback for about a year now know that the devs aren't interested in implementing restrictions to make the game more like a sim. So some might be tired of these discussions because they feel like these ideas (although great) won't make it into the game.
But that doesn't mean they don't listen to feedback, they've done a lot of great work after release - with patching things up and giving a lot of customization options for the HUD.
IF you read the Official post on UPlay about tomorrow's 10 hour downtime that begins at 3 AM Est they will not only be adding the Ghost Wars PvP for release tomorrow at 1 PM Est - Estimated... They will be adding a patch for campaign mode as well. It's very possible that they made add some of these exact ideas to the game.
