I just bought Wildlands and I totally love it! Except this auto shoulder swap thing, which is driving me crazy!

I'm right handed and my right eye is the dominant one, so I would ALWAYS shoot from the same side every time, unless there were some awkward corner I needed to shoot from. As soon as I'm done with that awkward corner I'd switch back to my preferres side. That should be the only logical way.

Why can't you take some ideas from your own game, Division, where it works perfectly! There you switch hands if you shoot over an edge or around a corner, but you always switch back afterwards again, unless you actively choose to switch sides.

Please add a function to disable this constant auto switching! I'm going bananas here!
You can overcome it to a certain extent by always hitting cover turned a little so your left shoulder touches first. If your right shoulder hits and sticks you into cover then the auto swap occurs and vice versa of course.

He said it was driving him bananas so I offered up something that works for me. Obviously I'm only a console peasant and not blessed with your enormous intellect so you'll have to cut me some slack.

Well, the first step in fixing a problem is to acknowledge there is one, so good for you.

However, the point is that your little workaround is basically worthless, besides being totally ridiculous, counter-intuitive and clumsy, but that's just my opinion.
Whenever people criticize game features here, you're not far and will step in to find lame excuses or workarounds, just like you did now, defending your holy Wildlands.
That won't make the game better. Criticizing it, hoping the devs care (lol) does, or at least has the potential.

Where do I defend it? Giving another gamer a tip on how I deal with the issue isn't anything other than being helpful. I'm beginning to wonder if you're not better suited to console gaming yourself, perhaps, because reading doesn't seem to be a strong point for you.

If you check my post history on this topic you'll find I'm an advocate of a lean function as opposed to a cover system.

Click you heels 3 times, it won't fix the issue with the camera but it will make you feel better... proven!

    Aim over shoulder

Sorry for pushing the thread up.

But really I totally agreed with the second point. I have played The Divison for like year and half and I really use to see my characters in front of my screen so im trying my best to get kinda smaller style of what i played in The Division , we should have an option where it stays as shoulder aim and whenever i exit the combat I should go back to my default aim option.

You "manually" change it? "sooooooo often"

Your saying its automatic for clipping reasons, then you say that you manually change it. Then you say its good and others should get used to it but almost every other TPP shooter has shoulder switch.

Please tell me how " (every time i am on my way to a corner i switch shoulder to be ready to see around it) ", how do you switch? YOU CAN'T

Also you said, "if the camera was fine being over your left shoulder when you DON T aim, why did it move over the right shoulder when i DO aim!?" IF THAT HAPPENED, ID BE soooooooo happy mate, it doesn't switch to the preferred shoulder because you cant pick a preferred...

This is still such a big issue, every person ive played this with. I use this as an Ice Breaker... EVERY TIME THEY SAY YEAH IT SUCKS!

Please fix, please please fix this.

Dude, you are the reason things like this dont get fixed. TO HAVE AN OPTION DOESN'T HURT ANYONE, if you don't though...... THAT'S WHEN SOULS BREAK

if that low barrier was a high wall than, according to the angle of the camera compared to the wall, you will go left along the wall and the camera would want to be on your left shoulder to show you what is around the left corner of the wall so you can see and lean around it. its like it doesnt act differently if its a low obstacle or a tall one.
    that's the logic.

personally i have very little issue with that. it never hinders my aiming. i manually change shoulders sooooo often (every time i am on my way to a corner i switch shoulder to be ready to see around it) so i am already a step ahead of the auto-swap. but i guess in some cases it can be a bit distracting. there ARE some issues, mainly when you try and aim through a door or a window, that its so hard for the camera to know what you want to do that it is on ONE shoulder and once you aim over shoulder if shift to the OTHER SHOULDER. now THAT is weird. if the camera was fine being over your left shoulder when you DONT aim, why did it move over the right shoulder when i DO aim!?
that is a more pressing issue, IMO, than the other issue you presented.

And i really really hope for a mode that remembers what is the default aim mode i picked on the menu so every time i aim i get that aim mode, no matter what i switched to the last time. your point no.2

I literally posted about this issue couple days ago as well. I'm glad I'm not the only one experiencing this. It's honestly physically nauseating for me because my brain tells me that I should be looking over the right shoulder so it takes a moment for me to adjust what I'm looking at.
