Does the bunker default to bikes that are not fully upgraded first? This entire season I have raced only tier 3 bikes and the donkey. If this game would have informed me that you don't race equalized bikes in the bunker I never would have built them until I had the resources to finish them. I race the donkey probably half the time and it's such a detriment in the bunker at the higher ranks.
This is the right way. Climb up to rank +/- 10 maybe possible with 6/7 upgrade, but higher is hard without full upgrades. Pardonable, would be a miracle if RL could give a equal real time opponent for every bunker race.Originally Posted by mathatter911 Go to original post
Saving up resources to reach 5/5/5/5 or 6/6/6/6 quickly is a very good idea. The bikes truly do start at weak levels, because RL really does want to encourage you to spend on upgrades. However, after 5/5/5/5 etc... I have always found that the bike upgrades are no longer as important as your own skill, and you can proceed with upgrades at your own pace. (I wouldnt go hunting for top-50 individual track records with anything less than a maxed bike though).
I have a couple of alternate IDs, and they are not maxed out on bikes. On those IDs, I can reach just as far in the bunker, just as easily... can hit the same ranking on MC, etc events as I can on my maxed ID. On track ranking I am consistently a little lower, but not by a lot. Once you have a "decent" bike, it becomes much more about your knowledge of the tracks drive-line and the tricks each type of bike provides you.
Its a common "gamer" paradox; when people "win", they are quick to say its due to their skill. When people "lose".... well thats because the bike wasnt upgraded enough.![]()
What is the purpose of having more than one ID for this game? Just seems like 2x/3x/4x etc the work especially on events to gain new tracks or bikes.Originally Posted by xitooner Go to original post
It sure is!Just seems like 2x/3x/4x etc the work especially on events to gain new tracks or bikes.I decided a while back that I need to stop playing all 3 for the really grindy events and just do my main ID. But I find its hard for me to let an ID "sit" and not play the event..... it goes against my nature. . . so I often do all 3 IDs anyway (I did last event).
All 3 IDs had a purpose at the time....my original xitooner is the main ID (one of the first no-pay people to max out everything), and I started it in early Frontier beta; before there was an Anba, a Tier3, donkey/crazy, bunker, etc. Which was fine, but it wanst har dto "keep up" with RL additions after a while, so once RL had fleshed out the game to that extent and kept adding quests, etc.... I wanted to play the game from the beginning the way it was "supposed" to be played by a new user. That was ID#2, and it was fun, and fairly instructive (I like to learn how games work). I tried to optimize my advancement by using all of the tricks possible (like maximizing ANBA coin/experience by barely winning... and flying through the upgrades as fast as I could. Eventually I maxed that ID out too.
ID#3 came about because I had decided to try and figure out how the game did scoring... and realized I couldnt do a very good analysis of LB points gained when I had already played the tracks on my existing IDs. So I upgraded a 3rd ID (but only took bikes to 5/5/5/5 to get the full set faster) and I kept scoring data on most of the tracks and only played a track when I absolutely had to (didnt play any tracks gathered from events and loot wheel, events, slots, etc... kept them in reserve). I started analyzing the scoring on each track and figured it out. So ... I've spent a lot of time on 5/5/5/5 bikes and still trying to score as high into Plat as possible.![]()
It's like you were waiting for me to ask you that question lol
That's real cool though. Die hard fan for the game you are. Admirable. I was thinking you just loved the game so much you had to play it a few different times from the start but you actually had goals to reach between each ID. Good job at finding out those details. They have helped us understand the game a little bit better.![]()
