Somehow, helping a teammate became less honorable in a game that has matches in which team objectives need to be met in certain matches. In any other game, its fine to gang up on someone as long as your on the winning team, in fact it's good strategy, but nobody likes losing so any reason will be found to explain the loss rather than get better. Since the game is called For Honor, the idea of good strategy goes out the window and instead ganging up becomes dishonorable. When the only honorable thing to do when near a fight is to join in, that its not honorable to stand there and watch. This argument of ganging up is dishonorable seems completely flawed.

Ganking was always a thing from the get go, it's really now only a problem because of the new characters added, there is now so much CC, unblockable's and unblockable CC, that fighting multiple people is now a waste of time.

so running round in a group and smashing people is now more effective than ever.

the 6 new characters feel like they are from a different game to the original cast.

TIME AND TIME AGAIN these threads just KEEP popping up. the hell is going on people.

SKIRMISH: team vs team, no duels, just teams slaughtering teams.
ELIMINATION: this is where the strife is, mostly. people can't decide on being honorable or to run away. IMO a new mode needs to be implemented, a sort of Lobby where people can gather and duel eachother with onlookers. some kind of hub. people seem to want something like this, but i dont know if this game has the population anymore for it.
DOMINION: learn to play the ****ing objective. your objective is NOT to go and fight the nearest enemy, your objective is the 3 capture points. you attack them and you defend them. the trick in this gamemode is to trust your teamm8s to take care of one place while you cover another. if you see 3 people coming your way, get the hell out of there. run to another point maybe. if you do that you will quickly realise that ganging up too much will only hurt your team, because it's a waste of manpower.

"i wanna play this My way" well that's why you lose. you need to adapt. if you stubbornly keep to your own way of doing things, then you have no reason to complain when it fails. it's your own fault.

I agree. The Dominion game mode has devolved since Season Two. Originally, it was like those battles you see in movies. Two Characters (Players) fight over a point over an army. Ganging up is not playing the objective, it's called being ***** and a coward. Buffing Revenge would help but the incompetent developers and designers don't know the first thing about balance or creating a fun fighting game. Lastly, since they let Roman the Moron in charge everything has went downhill. He's an imbecile that doesn't know the first thing about designing a video game.He was probably a low level QA tester or game designer that didn't create any thing good during the creation of the game. It used to be where you would fight your opponent but now it's about running from your opponent. Like I said, it's was changed to cater to idiots, *****es, and players that couldn't play.

If you stand alone in a zone, you score +2 point per tick.

The "gank" team you talk of gets the same +2 in their zone.

your team got 3 player more to distribute on the board too.

So why run to the gankers to get spanked ?

if 2 or 3 enemies run after you, they are less useful overall than you. none of you add value. but they less than you. you do your team a favour if so.

There's nothing more satisfying then parry in three dudes at once, getting revenge, and then taking two or three of them out before you die. This game gives you all the tools to beat a gank. Parrying is amazingly easy when you're getting sideswiped by someone youre not locked on to, you can get one EZPZ and it auto parries any attack from anyone. If it's really such a big problem for you work on some revenge builds. I see people beating 3v1 ganks all day. Winning a 4v1 isn't even that rare of you're utilizing environment and turtling well. Anything above a 2v1 usually works against the gankers anyway, they just smack eachother and cancel each other's attacks. Plus the revenge builds up like a beast from just blocking to the side from attacks from the players you're not locked on to. Its really fun. If you're not playing ranked, just stop caring about competing and have fun with it. Also, if you're getting ganked so hard, my experience tells me you're probably playing team matches very selfishly, as if you're a one man army. You're not. Stick with a team mate. Run away. Keep aware of whose alive or dead on your team. Maybe a point isn't worth defending if it's the only one you have and you'll team is waiting for a revive. As long as your utilizing the map and capturing different zones you should be with your team often. Don't go to capture the 3rd zone if you already have 2 and your team is boosting one. It's called strategy, you can't expect skill pressing buttons alone to be enough to win.

if I see that 2 of my teammates attack a opponent, I do not with..
except it is a centurion they should be smashed in the ground, whenever possible.
This 100%. I generally won't attack if there's already two people attacking one other. It's actually counter-productive a lot of the time. Cents deserve being ganked and I encourage it wholeheartedly.

This aside, not all people follow this code. If you are getting ganked in 4v4 constantly, you have to ask yourself a few questions:

    1. Are you running about on your own all time?
    2. Are you actively looking for the most vulnerable zone/flag to capture, or just running straight back to where you were killed?
    3. Are you feeding the gankers ample opportunities to gank you?

Sticking in two groups of two is a simple way to avoid being horribly ganked. Two skilled players can take out a gang of four ganking noobs. Furthermore, if a team is literally only hanging around in a team of 4 to gank, they can only possibly capture one zone at a time or defend one/two flags. Make use of the fact they are all in one area - if you're playing with friends especially, co-ordinate to be where they are not. Again, two groups of two can be effective for capping the other zones or flags whilst the other two tie up the gankers for a while.

Hanging around in a group of 4 isn't actually a very good tactic if your enemy knows what they are doing due to having all your eggs in one basket. Take advantage of the fact they're stuck together. I'd estimate that I come up against a 4 player gank squad in only 10% of 4v4 games of the time on PS4, it's not the norm.

Ganking has and will always happen in PvP games. There's really not much you can do to combat it as a developer, other than going back to revenge being god mode, which bring up an even bigger list of problems.

Personally I relish the opportunity for a good 2/3/4 on 1. I'll die most of the time if there's 3 or 4, but nothing beats the feeling I get when I actually pull off killing the whole enemy team on my own.

I know i might get some responses saying that I'm Whining or some other form of BS. (though I will say this. those of you who do troll my post by saying that kind of stuff. Your probably one of the people I'm about to talk about.) And this will be a bit winded but try and keep up. Cause i know most of the people who are gonna say I'm just whining or some other bs probably won't read past the first couple lines.

So, this is how PVP seems to work. GANG UP ON ONE PERSON. Yup that's how it seems to work. Even when your fighting 2v2, it's go for the player in the weakest looking gear first. Good strategy i don't mind it. But to be honest that's not what happens in PVP matches. To be Specific, Dominion. No instead Players, slaughter the enemy team by ganging up on them one by one, capture all the points, and then essentially spawn camp.

Skill is no longer involved in this game. it's all about the ganging up on people. and to make it worse is when the players pulling this BS sit there and do their characters equivalent of tea bagging as a group over the SINGLE player they just ganged up on.

So yeah this is combat in For Honor. And if that's the case, it's no wonder that the game lost so many players so fast. Because this is essentially what the games been for months and Ubisoft does not seem to care. To make things worse in this particular case is the lack of players that actually care. I'm sure there is actually a good majority of people who stopped playing for this specific reason because of little piss ant players who think themselves awesome for being able to be ******'s.

So unsure if I'm posting this in the right spot but seemed like the best spot to put it to explain what the strategy and tactics of this game is and how asinine it is to have to deal with it.

Oh and one more thing. You players who have 50+ reputation, ya know who I'm talking about folks. You guys who have 30+ rep on a single character and have crazy awesome gear out the rear. Yeah your the most pathetic when it comes to this type of game play. Because you obviously have played enough to have developed the skills to be able to fend for yourselves, but instead despite the fact a couple people might actually be having a awesome fight. You have to jump in and ruin it because YOU WANT THOSE POINTS. point's by the way that do not factor into your exp or steel gain and do not effect your scavenge. You just wanna be an ***. So, to all of you who play like this, enjoy making your obnoxious donkey noises while you play, because till this is fixed or till players actually gain some Honor, as the name of the game is implied. I have no interest in PVP.
That is one saltyboi. Don't like gearscore? Play duel/brawl. Don't like fighting more than one person at a time? Play duel. People are better than you in mp? Go on youtube and search up guides on how to play. This game requires skill and not every match is a gank fest. If you're matching into dom with randos you're going to get crushed, open a looking for group, find 3 people with mics, then try and play dom.

    Also obligatory gitgud
