Input struggles with some classes (highlander, shugoki)

    Hi,

could you please look into the window in which you can queue an attack for the classes Highlander and Shugoki. Something seems to be off there and I feel it has something to do with the adjustments that should "provide the player the feel that their class actually has to lift and handle something heavy" by a slow response timing according to Roman's explanation at some point in the past. In case of the Shugoki I feel he has a very weird input queue which and so it happens that he performs competlely unintended strikes after a a parry for example.

As for the Highlander I got really annoyed at the times I manage to throw someone into a wall and just can't get off a top heavy. And well, I am pressing the buttons but sometimes apparently the input window is so short or the Highlander has not recovered somehow yet so that I sometimes stand right in front of an opponent and just nothing comes out. Reminded me a lot of that short input window for centurion.

It is mostly noticable when I need to switch guard stances, which happens quite fast so I don't understand why it is so hard to get an attack off next (note that I don't claim that the attack has indeed to strike before the opponent has regained their block stance). But it also happened occasionally while already being n top stance. To get the best work around I tend to mash my attack button then hoping that not an OF attack comes out instead of the regular. Anyway for the Highlander it is pretty crucial that you can seize an opportunity once it presents it to yourself. Sometimes this also happens with my Warden. Apparently there is something very inconsistent going on which might need to have a look upon too. So please have a look.

And btw, I usually play with a controller but am handicapped a bit right now so I have to use mouse and keyboard instead. Issue occurs with both tools.

I can bring it up. Do you play mostly with the heavier classes (shugoki/HL)? And if not, do you notice this with any other classes? It's possible its a mix of input lag, perception, plus inherent attack speed - so we'll need to parse that out to determine what the actual root cause is.

Thx for the reply Noty. No, I also play Warden, Orochi and Cent. From time to time Nobu, Conq and Raider. I can clearly state that I have never encountered this as Orochi, not as Cent (other than his very unforgiving short window to input a heavy attack after his kick), Nobushi and Conq. Raider I do play too seldomly to tell.

Thanks! I've made note of it - and since this case does seem to be rather unique to your situation, do you mind grabbing a quick clip of any of your fights as HL/Shugoki for me so we can take a look at it?

I also want to say that Highlander's input seems off, sometimes I'll get it but the time when you're meant to press isn't intuitive.
