For me too, can not load SavegameOriginally Posted by ShieldRIL Go to original post

Hey,
The update added in-game text support for Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese and Korean.
However and as already pointed out, there's an issue with this update. The team is currently investigating the cause of it. Apologies for any inconvenience in the meantime.

Same here just started playing this game a few days ago. Getting a "Load failed. A required downloadable content is missing" despite me having no DLC for this game.
What worries me is that this game is old. How long till we can expect a fix? Or are we not going to get anything for months as for this is an old game and likely only affecting those of us who have not purchased DLC?
Can we get an ETA on a possible fix? Just wondering if I should ditch AC3 and play Blackflag. I purchased all the AC's in order so I can get caught up when Origins is out. I'm taking my time in each one, doing all or most of the content while I am on that title, but I'm not one to go back to a previous single player game and play it again later. Once I start Black Flag, that'll likely be the end of my AC3 gameplay.
Also as a suggestion. Sense we're in the midst of devs looking into and fixing the game, can you guys give a look at the land convoy attacked glitch? Here is a quote below further explaining it.
What concerns me though is this apparent glitch has been revealed in as early as 2013 with no fix. I have deep concerns we possibly won't get a fix to our save game issue for some time as well. Here's hoping we do get a speedy fix for our saves, and maybe you guys can look into the permanently locked convoy attacked glitch?Without a question, the most inconvenient glitch of the game. Once the player have access to the Logbook, he can craft up to 3 Convoys, load it in the 'Trading' section of the Logbook and send it to discovered General Stores and Trading Posts. When sent, a Convoy has a calculated risk of being attacked when crossing the Frontier. If under attack, the convoy must be saved within the limited time. If exceeded, the player loses the convoy. Once lost, a Convoy can be recrafted, BUT, there's a glitch in which the Convoy remains under attack, disappearing from the Frontier and from the Assassin's Guild. Once glitched, the player permanently loses a Convoy slot. I'd advise you not to start any missions and remain outside the Frontier to be able to send recruits to save it (make sure it's 100% success rate), always paying close attention to your Newsfeed. If you're unable to reach 100% success rate or there aren't any recruits avaiable, do it yourself. And do it fast. Better safe, than sorry!
Looks like they just completely screwed our save. I am able to make a new game save, and load that one back. My primary save with over 50 hours of game play is just bugged and giving the same issue everyone else is giving.
I doubt we'll see a fix soon. Lucky if we even get a fix before Origins is out. This is if we even get a fix. Considering its our saved game file they screwed up they likely can not do anything about it.
Total BS. I would expect more from Ubisoft. I take steps into ensuring my files are backed up and that I never run into a issue where I am left in the dirt with files i often use. To think though the actual game creators are the ones to screw this all up is actually laughable.
So frustrating. I just need to vent. Will need to see what I can do to get compensated if they can't fix this issue. This should honestly have never happened. Do they not properly test this stuff before they release it?
I'm having this issue, as well. To be clear:
Immediately after the recent update, when I fire up Assassin's Creed 3 and try to load my save file, Instead I get the message: "Load Failed. A required downloadable content is missing".
I have only ever installed the original version of the game - I have never gotten *any* DLC for it, on either the Steam or Ubisoft platforms.
I really doubt this is intended, but I'll confess that it does feel a little like I'm being extorted; like my save file is being held ransom until I buy something else from Ubisoft.
Here's hoping they manage to get this fixed soon. Fingers crossed and knock on wood, because it's not like there's anything else I can do..
