Let's talk about DLC! What kind of DLC do you want??? As for me, I don't believe in DLC. A complete work of art doesn't need any additions! Michelangelo and Rafael didn't make any DLC to their works. Done - is done. And no need to run around with additions. They only spoil the game, and our impression about the game!
I'd like a DLC as long as it it something like Valley of the Yetis. Ever since Far Cry 4 came out with those amazing DLCs I've been expecting a amazing DLCs in Far Cry and Primal really disappointed me.
Wishlist:
1. New campaign like Valley of the Yetis
2. At least 3 extra missions like the Syringe one
4. Set of missions with Hurk
5. New weapon
you do not like and actually do not want dlc for the game but you started a thread for it that is strange i think a zombie dlc for this game might be good i would never want a full far cry game to be about zombies but a zombie dlc using the map from far cry 5 might be fun if they added things like base defense and building a hideout to fight them off from
With deadlines / goals / budgets it is only possible to do so much so I would hope there IS DLC for Far Cry 5 in fact there will be because the game is advertised with a season pass so I think that answers the question on DLC.
What would I like, maybe extra weapons / vehicles for SP / MP and new Missions for the Campaign.
Map Editor DLC to keep the game alive say 12 months after release, depending on what and how many multiplayer game modes we get maybe a new mode again to keep the game alive a year or more after launch.
What annoys me about a lot of "DLC" is the fact that's it's not even DLC at all
A lot of the time, all you get is an unlock code to unlock content that already exists on the disk. Content, in my opinion, that should be made available without the need for additional purchases and unlock codes.
When I purchase "DLC" I'm expecting to download a few extra Gb's of new content, not a 5kb unlock code to access content that resides on a disk I have already purchased.
A list so fine #3 is unnecessary! haha. Adding a weapon or 2 to the game would be great, Hurk missions I'm totally down for. As for proper DLC, I'd want as you do a new campaign, but something totally different, something that can be set in the same world, but unrelated to the narrative of FC5. Could be a zombie type thing like 8rody suggested, but something vastly different for sure.Originally Posted by Canadian Beer42 Go to original post
What you're describing seems more like pre-order bonuses & small unlocks, which when they're on the disc is BS that they're locked away behind pre-orders or paywalls. The witcher 3 obviously handled DLC better than any other dev ever has or probably ever will again, but they had the right idea in calling their significant additions 'expansions'. The "DLC" they had was 16 small bits of content like alternate outfits & gear was all free of charge. The bigger expansions they charged for was well worth the cost. If for FC5 there is a significant SP expansion, I'd want them to take advantage of the smaller scale (smaller risk) opportunity and do something really different & unique with it....Originally Posted by mistados Go to original post
Actually a zombie DLC would be great, probably would fill in the space for "Valley of the Yetis" sort of DLC.Originally Posted by Gr4nt8r0dy Go to original post
zombie DLC for FC5 would be a pretty good fit. Seems like an appropriate setting for it and I'd much rather have zombies as a DLC one-off than have them try to make a full game out of it...Originally Posted by Canadian Beer42 Go to original post
Developers, if you decide to make dlc about sasquatches....Don't force us to kill them! It can be dlc -"I'm a sasquatch", for example. Where we will play as a sasquatch, escaping and attacking enemies. In that case ,we shouldn't be only strong but we should be super sensitive - feel our enemies at a great distance and have ability to hypnotize them. Instill fear. Instill that we are invisible. We will be masters of the forests...and wolves will be our dogs! Even a whole squad of enemies will be no problem for us....we will "play and troll" them! We will be a real nightmare for our enemies!
Not everything has to be amazingly original to be good & enjoyable. Very little is wholly original these days, value is determined by the execution of the idea. Truthfully it's only an idea I'm not against for the simple fact that it would vastly decrease the likely hood of them making a fully fledged zombie iteration of FC. Much rather they utilize the idea for a one off DLC than a whole title to itself, and the FC5 map and american setting seem the most appropriate place to fully utilize the concept. Zombies are not an original idea, no argument there, but personally I'm actually not into zombie games that've come before because they never align with how I envision a zombie game working. At any rate, we're just spitting off ideas, unlike your "contribution"...Originally Posted by Sabotur Go to original post
