Woah! There's Two Community Managers Now!?

    Hello Riders,

    Yes, you read that correctly!

Some of you might have seen might have seen me in last Friday's Twitch stream chat, but if not, allow me to introduce myself with this post.

Over the next coming weeks, you will start to see me pop up throughout the Trials community working along side Shogun and UbiPhobos. By all means feel free to reach out to me, chat, questions and cookies are more than welcome.

    *DISCLAIMER*

With Trials, I'm prone to crashing (a lot). One day, and one day soon I might crash less (hopefully).

    Welcome.

This forum is a mess. Every thread turns into a conversation about the lack of communication between Ubisoft/Redlynx and the players. Trials Garage hasn't been updated in months.

Perhaps the Ubisoft way of managing a community is to ignore those customers who have remained loyal to the franchise for several years. But I don't think it's working all that well.

I was going to write something light-hearted and encouraging about your inability to stay on your bike to conclude this message. But I was concerned it would distract you from the key point I am trying to make. Communication.

    Welcome!

Now onto the not so pleasant part of my thread that is relevant to the topic but not at all aimed at you personally.

I seriously hope there is a reason we have 2 community managers... because so far we have had jack sh... in terms of "community management" in the past 12 months... Someone seriously needs to pull their finger out and start spilling the beans. The Garage section was supposed to be a place where we could discuss various things about future games etc, but instead it seemed like a place where RL could just take ideas and give absolutely nothing back to the community giving them the feedback. Allow me to take the time to comment on a few quotes from the garage...

You know, i couldnt agree more. Collaboration with the community is a very good thing for any game development project... if it happens... So tell me, when exactly ARE we going to see this "working closely with the community", because it sure as hell aint happened so far... and bare in mind this quote is from almost half a year ago...

You know, im not even sure if this is true. For all of this talk about hearing what your fans want, you still don't seem to have clocked on to the biggest thing we want... COMMUNICATION! What good is all of this feedback when you aren't even filling the people giving it with the confidence that you are actually listening. For all we know, we could be talking to a brick wall...

Included? i don't feel included... Inclusion implies we are actually working together, not one party sitting quiet writing down everything everyone says without giving back...

Finally, i do want to apologise to you MrDrPink for kinda dropping an unpleasant vibe on your welcome post, but i was on the verge of making my own thread on the subject anyway, and figured it would be better off here where you can see just how the community you will be managing feel.

    Jonny. Speaking the truth here.
"So tell me, when exactly ARE we going to see this "working closely with the community", because it sure as hell aint happened so far... and bare in mind this quote is from almost half a year ago..."

There isn't a back and forth happening and no information on a release date. This goes back just about a full year now. I wonder why I even log on.
The concept behind hardcore fans and appeasing them can't matter much monetarily to a game with 4 million sales for Fusion. Maybe 50 on the forum regularly? Any you know we will ALL be buying the next title. So, no need to do much here.

If a developer values it consistent fan base who gives them feedback...you would return a favor and simply...give them a heads up on a rough rough timeframe and where the game is heading.
Saying one thing and doing another should be reserved for tradesmen. Plumbers, etc.

Thanks guys for jumping in on this thread and sharing these points. With me being new to the Ubisoft team, and Trials. I think first steps should be for me to read over the materials you've shared with me, and talk to the community team and start building from there.

Thank you for acknowledging our concerns. Hopefully this won't be the last we hear from you and we can finally begin working together to dig Trials out of it's grave. Continue communicating with us and there may very well be a cookie awaiting the soft touch of your lips after all Ubi-MrDrPink

Don't hold your breath. This has been going on for literally an entire year. We know as much now as then. It's comical.

Communication has been an issue since whenever the unicorn DLC was first pitched. But apparently the uproar that caused wasn't enough to get through to them because less than a year after that went live the Blood Dragon platformer was released. I certainly know better than to get my hopes up.

But I do see some progress being made within this thread. In most instances that I have seen on this forum where someone has mentioned Ubisoft/Redlynx need to step up their communication skills, it will be completely ignored by the community team. Also, at least this time our constructive criticism hasn't been censored for being mistaken as toxicity, and we haven't been labelled trolls.. yet.

Only time will tell. But I have my fingers crossed that we don't need to have this conversation again in a couple of weeks with the next community manager.
