i'm taking part in the boycott of R6 and haven't played for about a week now... i will admit though that i have had the urge to play but out of principle i flat out refuse!
I was looking for a game to play whilst rainbow sorts its **** out and i came across dreadnought which is a tactical space shooter where you captain massive space ships! Team work is essential in this game and admittedly it can feel slow at first but that only adds to the tactical aspect of the game! You need to plan every single move 5 steps ahead of time and work with your team.
honestly, this game is extremely satisfying and has more than satisfied my urge to play siege! im so addicted right now and the best part of all is that its free to play.
There was a sale on MGS1 so I've been playing through that. I wish I could recommend Duck Game on the PS4 but it's inferior to the PC version because the multiplayer feature on the console just won't seem to connect to anyone.
I wish I could be more lenient- ESPECIALLY since the team has worked on fixing so many problems- but because they are taking out maps, saying that the maps they take out may or may not be fixed up in the future, saying that they will delete maps from the game in the future, and now are changing the recoil system to be predictable with very little RNG... I'm going to boycott and complain for as long as it takes. Ubisoft is killing something I enjoyed right before my eyes. Screw the bugs! Other than the game-breaking exploits this game would be better off with more content and good mechanics than the terrible path they are going down!
Tbh I don't really have a replacement game for this game. It is still unique (SWAT 4's singleplayer?) and I would still like it if not for the horrible business practices. Microtransactions are one thing but REMOVING GOOD CONTENT TO ADD ROOM FOR NEWER CONTENT? That's unacceptable! Also as I said before the new predictable recoil system the developers want to add is going to ruin this game. We are going to have so much more running and gunning as well as operator-maining as people master the pattern on guns they like. I am sad because something I loved has turned into something that I can't support or enjoy. It will hurt to move on and it will hurt when I look back at what I once loved.
I beat Uncharted lost legacy twice and Horizon zero dawn in the last week. Started poppen heads open on Sniper elite 4 with me boy all day to relax. I downloaded Dreadnought a few days ago and did the email thing but never started the game. It looks like a blast but I hear you can really only go so far before you have to put some coin in the machine to progress. Have you found this supposed paywall yet and if not how far along are you in terms of progression?
I'm in to space sims and would like an honest assessment if you have the time.
ive not encountered the paywall yet but the grind is real. there are different tiers of ships and unlocking upgrades for tier 1/2 isnt bad at all but once you get to tier 3 it starts to take some time. tier 4 and 5 will be a massive time sink and i suspect this is where you would probably spend some RL cash. having said that, you cant buy ship upgrades with RL cash, instead you can buy dreadnoughts equivalent to renown boosters which is elite status. This gives you 50% more ship exp and credits and thats whats used to upgrade ships. I havent spent any RL money yet.Originally Posted by WBBCoop Go to original post
I have just unlocked my second tier 4 ship and ive been playing for about a week now so that will give yo some idea of the progression rate (however ive been off work this week so ive played more than i should lol). For a free game its kept me hooked this long and its ll i want to play right now.
it can feel a little slow at first, but they nailed the feeling of piloting massive space ships!
one ast thing, the game is by no means perfect and there are a few bugs present like the sound cutting out and matchmaking can take a few minutes sometimes but besides that, its a great game.
maybe i'll see you online sometime!
I appreciate the response man! I did start to do the tutorials and It gave me the Rebel Galaxy feel but not so cartoony. I enjoyed RG but it got repetitive and grindy. I'll give it a whirl and see how it goes. I'm good with dropping 20-40 bucks on this and get some half way decent play time and a few bugs don't creep under my skin unless it disrupts the actual playing of the game.Originally Posted by R6-MUTE-R6 Go to original post
While i'm not in on the boycott, i feel i wanted to say something about the 'predictable recoil system'... if you're good enough to be in Team Rainbow in the first place, wouldn't you be able to predict your own weapon's recoil anyways?
that being said, i have about 700 hours in this game, and am looking forward to the DLC, and don't even have season pass (>150,000 renown), i will really like the slow pace and caution one will have to put in as the new Grom Operator and HK Operators will bring. Happy Hunting, and one said 'I wish i could be more lenient'... i encourage you to protest, if you feel some of the unbalanced maps are being taken away wrongfully, but the game in GB is growing so large it would be pretty ridiculous to ask new players on a free weekend or back to school sale to download over 100GB just to play and learn that the game is really hard at first, especially with Smurfs at level 15 who are "diamond on XBox" :/
Going to quote myself a third time since you seem intent on posting the same thing everyhwere.Originally Posted by NeRvEaGeNt78 Go to original post
