A small request - FC4 maps with low gravity

    Hey folks,

I know this is strange and out the blue but was just wondering if any of you know of (or perhaps have made) any maps with low gravity modifiers within the FC4 map editor? ^_^

I don't like those. It takes too long to get used to, just to play a map. If you just want to jump 2 feet up to a ledge, you can't, you jump 30 feet or whatever. If you want to jump from one roof to another you have no idea if you can or know how far you will jump. It's one of those love hate things... you either love it or hate it. No way to control how hard you jump.... max jump every time.

I made one when FC4 first release, I wouldnt consider it a MAP though, but it is published. Its just was basically a testing ground for the modifier cause I was curious how it worked. Its in space, on the moon and has an asteroid impact with some rocks. That is literally it.

I dont even remember the name lol, but if you search under my name youll find it....again...it wasnt made to be a real map, just a testing ground with some AI

Just a personal project at the moment, so anything is helpful even if it's unfinished or a test

I played around with the gravity, it's a little odd in FC4 I hope they improve this modifier and still have it available for the next game.

Depending on the setting you choose you can hang in the air for some time then you start to drop - it doesn't work with vehicles only players, as AKAFootloose said it is difficult to know the jump height until you test it, often you go way above the height you want.

I will put up a mention of your post in the Playstation Group there are people making maps on a daily basis over there and lots have experimented, I know I have played quite a few with this modifier but off the top of my head can't remember the name of the map - hopefully someone will post back soon with some for you to try out.

There are 3 videos here, the first I play to the end and the other 2 are a lot shorter.
Anti Grav is odd because if you put it up too high you hang in the air a little but that also depends on the height of the jump.

To be fair one of the best maps is the one that came with the game by Ubisoft in the featured list, it doesn't look that great but it plays ok.
I am sure if you have any questions people on here will know the answers as people are always playing around with settings trying out different things.

I personally think it depends on how much you modify it by, if it's just a small change (for example in space) then I'd Say that's fine, but when it gets to the point where jumping can kill you on landing then it's pointless

You end up doubling up on Modifiers and having to turn on no fall damage to stay alive.

I made one map with the gravity tweaked some, So it would be easier to climb up the mountains. But its barely noticeable.

Another map I was working on with extreme gravity but I was only 10 percent into it.. I wanted to go back to it but due to how the maps are played. Its seem hard to find unique maps. I don't think anyone would be interested in it and if they were into a low gravity map.. I am sure it would be hard to find in the menus. Anyway could be interesting in MP maps on FC5.. I guess you can say I'm very imaginative.
