    Always dislike when the protagonist doesn't talk in games, all too often makes for completely unmemorable characters in my experience and largely forgettable story lines.

    I think that the divide between players is 50-50. Fallout 4 sold just as well with a mute character.

    Fallout 4 was literally the first fallout that did NOT have a mute character, that was the first entry that had a voiced protagonist! Also, Fallout is an RPG first and shooter 2nd, so mechanics like dialog choices play an important part in the game, not really a proper comparison in relation to Far Cry...

    First of all, I never said the story would be crippled at all, I said I believe a mute protag would be detrimental to the story, which I stand by. I do think mute protags in non-rpg games is rarely a good thing and don't know if I've ever played a game with one that I thought benefitted from having a silent main character....
