Hi there,
I just bought the DLC "Fallen Ghosts" via UbiStore in the sale.
The Maingame I bought via Steam.
I received a confirmation for buying the DLC but no Key or whatsoever.
I checked in Steam.. no option for Fallen Ghosts activated, nor in UPlay.
When I start the game and check under store->DLC it says "owned" for "Fallen Ghosts"
But when I try to start the DLC via MainMenu, the option is greyed-out with an lock-icon.
When clicking on it, it says "You have already downloaded this DLC. Please install it in order to play."
Yeah.. fine... and where the heck do I download/install it?
Hi thalon_fx,
I'm sorry to be the bearer of bad news, however, both the base game and DLC must be purchased from the same location (either Steam or Uplay) in order to function with one another. While you are more than welcome to submit a ticket to Ubi Support detailing the situation, I'm unfortunately unable to confirm as to whether they will be capable of assisting in this situation.
Well.. besides being grateful for the fast response I really, really think that in this information-age we're living in, Ubisoft should clearly state that this only(!) applies if you also bought the game in the ubistore... and additionally (being a programmer) should query if the useraccount linked with the orderof the DLC has also ordered the game via ubistore.
In my eyes thats either a lame excuse from ubisoft (well.. not from you) for their lazy programmers or the belive in people thinking of... "well... thats 8€ going down south, I can't do anything about it."
It's nearly like fraud. I sincerly hope, the support will refund me the money as I demanded when opening the ticket! Otherwise I will check back legal actions - yeah - for 8€!
Hi,
have the same problem as thalon_fx. I really hope that the Ubisoft support can help here. At least the money should be repaid to us.
I wonder why the hell doesn't ubisoft give any note about that issue in their uplay shop? It seems that the problem has been known for some time. And for what did I link my steam account at uplay??? What an outrage not to fix such an incident immediately.Ubisoft should urgently fix this! It´s really frustrating and, incidentally, on the verge of fraud. After buying a lot of games from Ubisoft over the years, I feel like I've been tricked. Maybe I shouldn't pay any more money for ubisoft games...
Just to complete some infos for other users... same problems here:

I can't belive this. Ubi.. hello? NOTIFY your user about this right in the store - also you could check if the game was bought from ubiStore or not and prevent buying DLCs if not!
At least I saw some people forme above posts claiming that the got a refund. I sincerly hope so.. otherwise I'll call my bank to cancel/return the transaction.
And to clarify and proof there's no hint at all this is not working with Steam Maingame <-> DLC Ubistore
this is what the ubistore says (it's in german):
Aktivierung: Nach dem Einkauf wird der DLC automatisch über Uplay PC im Spiel verfügbar. Der Einkauf muss nicht manuell aktiviert werden.
which translates to:
Activation: After your purchase the DLC will be automatically be available in Uplay PC inside the game. The purchase must not be activated.
It's a chore, but if you get a copy of the game (legit or pirate) with the DLCs installed and copy over the DLC folders from that installation it allows you to play the content you paid for.
Nice try Ubi****s - the community circumnavigates your attempts to squeeze people's wallets
Yeah, I know that "fix". And/or you got a friend and you can swap over the two needed directories.
Tough... I ordered my bank to take back that purchase and if they deactivate the DLC I'll buy it from steam.
This surley was the last time I bought directly via ubistore.
Hi,
after only 10 days (wow what a fast Response!) I received a reply to my ticket. Unfortunately, as expected, the statement was very unsatisfying.
I was told that it was my own fault because I didn't buy the main game from Uplay. However, they did not offer a solution. No talk of reimbursement of my expenses or a compensation. But hey.... they 're very sorry. How friendly!
I've had enough of this. Now I have arranged my bank to reverse the amount. After buying a lot of Ubisoft games in the last 10 years I am very disappointed. Of course, Ubisoft doesn't care about that at all. Ubisoft is a big company in which the individual customer has no significance. The whole behavior shows how unimportant we are to this company. I have drawn my conclusions from this matter and will never again pay money to Ubisoft.
They don't need my money and I don't need no lousy customer service that just wants to screw with me. GTH
And I got zero respone on my support ticket, opened at the Septermber 2nd.
I also ordered my Bank to transfert back the money - got green light and the form got out yesterday.
People: Do not let Ubisoft play these games with you. You got rights and it's your money... even if it is only 10 Bucks or less. If they don't respond and/or don't offer a refund... take action and order you bank to take back the money.
It could be so easily avoided if they integrate a check, taken from your customer account if the main game was bought from ubi or not... sigh
