Lets look at last weeks "CONTENT" shall we. A smoke effect.
Is this what "CONTENT" looks like these days?
Content doesn't get released "every week " there were several weeks with no content at all.
The more people try and defend a game that is broken the less likely anything that's broken will ever be fixed.
The game is tanking hard in fact tanking harder than any other game in history. Sure it broke sales records but also broke records for losing more players in 1 month than any other.
The game wasn't ready they knew it but released a broken game anyway.
This could have all been avoided if they actually finished development before release , instead of being greedy for money.
Now don't get me wrong I enjoy the game and play regularly BUT only player Vs Ai the lack of population makes it impossible to find any kind of balanced PVP games , mostly I'm outdone by players with way more experience and way better gear. This makes playing an annoyance rather than fun as its sposed to be.
Ive been patient for 8 months now seen no real improvement.
How long must we wait to see the game in a state that makes it fun again?
They going to have to perform a miracle to get player population back to a level where matchmaking actually works as intended (as it stands now its a completely 1 sided affair all high rep centurions on one team and new players on the other.)
If I could go back to when I initially pre ordered the game I wouldn't have even bothered.
They screwed the pooch now the players either leave or be patient , for me patience isn't my greatest virtue and is wearing rather thin even to the point of admitting I made a mistake giving ubisoft another chance at making a "finished" product.
well as a customer, because this is a better comparison when you BUY a car, you buy it with the brakes half working, wit 1 tire missing and no lights?Howard_T_J:
Well as a consumer. If i want multiple things fixed on my car. I pay for multiple things... You've only paid for one thing... a game. What else have you contributed to the money pool of dedicated servers unless you buy steel every week.
Dude, youre one of the better comunity people. ive tryed patience. i even defended them over and over. but lets get real. quick fixse hot fixes they state it themselves. thats easy. but we dont even see that untill the real patch... and the patches are rare. and barely resolve anything... and this is going for 8 months now... i thing i have a right to say mi patience is allmost over. i wont say like other ppl... i want my money back and etc. because i enjoy the game. but only 2 3 4 matches including disconects and then im out. ive played ranked, and i havent encounder a single player that didnt exploit every single exploit of the game or play any different than just defensive meta and parry. what kind of data does ubisoft need so they see that parry is broken and super abusive?ChampionRuby50g:
Man, last few comments I've seen from you has just been bashing Ubisoft. If me as a member is getting sick of seeing it, imagine how these mods must feel seeing this abuse directed at them constantly day in day out. Complaining about all the issues didn't fix it all last month, or the month before or the month before that. It's just unnecessary at this point. Wouldn't you think a different approach other than putting Ubisoft down at every possible chance should be taken? Instead of been so aggressive all the time, perhaps try patience. The issues will get fixed, not over night. I'm just going to assume your between 16-25, and if you are you should know that miracles can't happen overnight. Siege took the better part of a year to fix itself and thrive, and FH is making a comeback itself. So please just be patient and stop with bashing the Dev team, who actually are working very hard believe it or not. Complaining about them everyday doesn't help, but maybe, just maybe been positive and showing support by believing that the team will do their jobs eventually.
Do you have any idea how many factory recalls are made on a yearly basis? Yet lawsuits that go on with manufactures?Originally Posted by Gemoroda Go to original post
This isn't 30 years ago when everything was made damn near perfect and able to last a life time. Everything is super intricate and when one thing ****s up. It takes out 3 others with it.
My EWS on my BMW went out. That means I need to replace the EWS, possibly the DME recode the EWS to the DME and recode the key to the EWS. Thats 2500 bucks.
The kitchen I work in has all brand new state of the art equipment that I need to get repaired every other month! Hell There's equipment here thats older than me that I've never made a repair call on since I've been here.
Times have changed, everything is a work in progress. If the game came out perfect. What would you have to ***** about?
I do get where you are coming from, really I do. I'm often wondering myself why it's taking so bloody long for the def meta and all these other fixes that were promised. I do remember reading a post on here ages ago that said Ubi only have a skeleton crew working on FH, which if true, would explain why things are taking so long. That comment I made wasn't so much directed at you, more so to the whole community. Just because all this hasn't gotten anywhere before, and constant *****ing about the devs doesn't make anyone feel better, and just brings the mood down. The number 1 thing brought up when someone asks about FH is that the community is toxic, and I want to try and remedy that every little bit I can. If that means me trying to tell people to be patient and stop bashing the devs at every chance on these forums, that's what I'll do.Originally Posted by Gemoroda Go to original post
I do admit there is a long way for Ubisoft to go, and that we all do have a right to say the time for patience is over, but in the end that's not going to make the Dev team rush and put out an update. I'm included in those people that wish Ubi took another month after their beta to polish the game, but that didn't happen and it is what it is now. We can't change that, as much as we would wish too, so the only thing to do is wait and hope the game is well on the way to recovery, especially by November because with all those triple A titles that actually look great, it will be hard to keep up. I still plan to play FH every now and then if the devs fix it, because it's by far one of the funnest and entertaining games I've played in a while. It's just a shame that it was fundamentally set up to fail from release, due to lack of proper development.
This might be a bit of an unpopular opinion but I personally think the game is really good...
I mean, sure, it has it's flaws but that doesn't stop it being a good game. Just look at any Bethesda game, hahahaha.
The fight system is awesome. It's intuitive enough that you can pick it up easily but complicated enough that there's a variety of play styles and skill levels even up to the advanced players. The characters have been a little unbalanced but not crazily so. Enough that you can notice it and it becomes annoying if you like to play as a weaker character or if you're always stuck playing against the strong ones, but even with bad match ups it's still possible to beat any opponent if you play skilfully enough.
This game actually has an anti-gank system. The revenge system isn't perfect but it's always been a heck of a lot better than just getting trampled every time you're outnumbered.
Even the framework behind the P2P network connections wasn't bad. When I've been playing I've very rarely had any noticeable lag. Since the game runs on everyone's individual computers and then only sends the important bits of information about what each character is doing, rather than the whole simulation, it cuts down a lot on the amount of information that needs to be passed from computer to computer in order to play the game. Unfortunately it resulted in unforeseen connectivity issues like disconnects, crashes and constant resyncing. They tried to fix these issues but then it just seemed to cause more and more problems so they've finally given up and decided to overhaul the whole thing for a server connection instead. Overhauling the multiplayer framework is a hefty job by the way. It's not just 'tweak some things here and there' it's 'start from the ground up and build a new system'. If they're lucky they'll be able to adapt another server based matchmaking system to work for For Honor (like their Siege framework maybe), meaning that it'll still take ****-tonnes of work, just less than it would have otherwise. Like 3 months of work down to 2 months.
I, for one, appreciate that the devs are willing to overhaul that whole system to improve the disconnects and fix some P2P issues like lag switching and game dropping.
Anyway, aside from the technical things the game premise is just really cool. The best ancient warriors going head to head is just awesome. The amount of work that goes into the characters and their outfits is amazing too. None of them play the same way, they all have moves and weapons that suit their historical counterparts (even if artistic license has been used here or there to create a more 'mythical warrior' feel instead of a 'realistic historical warrior' feel. Eg, Vikings not having chainmail and instead using fur or no armour).
Eh, I'm kinda rambling but basically my point is that this game has soooooo many positives to it that are unfortunately just overshadowed by a few, medium to large, issues, and that the dev team is working really hard to fix those issues for us.
(Also just to clear up, they're not running a skeleton crew. They've got multiple dev teams that work in various aspects of the game. A balance team, a design team, an environment team, etc etc etc. These teams aren't sub teams either, by the way, they're all individual fully staffed development teams. It's not like they've taken recourses away from the balance team to create a few new emotes. :P )
Agreed with your post 100%. Put my feelings into words haha. Thanks for clearing up that quote too. I didn't think it was the case, because recent updates have been a great change in the game for me, heading in a great direction. it was a "my mate works for Ubisoft and said they had a skeleton crew because they shipped them to other games" comment, so couldn't say it was true.(Also just to clear up, they're not running a skeleton crew.
