The matchmaking is a crap. I can be waiting for hours and the ranked never start.
It's the same with all play modes except domination.
The game isn't bad, but you should be ashamed of the poor amount of active players.

Hi, I would appreciate a point system based on tournament placement where you can earn tourney points to spend on the items you want. That way even lesser players like myself can earn a cool ornament now and then. I've won eight tournaments, but lost many, many, more. I would play more ranked duel tournaments if I could earn the tourney items this way. I think everyone else would too. Thanks.
A five point plan to revitalize Duel Tournament.
1. Make the tournament a special game mode, it's only natural to not have tournaments open all the time. Have it open on weekends, Friday to Sunday. This will direct the activity to a shorter time span and will results in better matchmaking.
2. Introduce a 1vs1 ladder that is always open, for competitive play during times the tournament is closed.
3. Increase the steel and XP rewards by 50%. Reward forfeit wins as well.
4. Each season, issue a season order to get a placement rank in Duel Tournament. This order rewards 2000 steel. Once this order is completed each weekend you get an order to participate in a Duel Tournament. This orders rewards 500 steel.
5. Create reward tiers depending on which rank you achieve after the season is finished. If you finish higher up in the ranks you get more interesting rewards.
Here's my take on what would make Duel Tournament work for me at least:
* Faster matchmaking - while a lot of this is dependent on player activity, if the matching making was more like Dominion, the reduced waiting times would increase activity. Having player rank being a factor in the matchups is probably what contributes to the waiting times. I would relax that feature and leave it to skill only to speed things up.
* Have ornaments from all seasons available since this is one of the biggest reasons players invest time in this mode at all.
* Rewards are based on your reward tier and last character played and are 100% guaranteed instead of this randomly generated feature. If you already have all the rewards for that character then a random reward based on your reward tier will be given - I believe this issue has already been addressed but I thought I'll mention it since I haven't been able to play Duel Tournament since the S6 patch.
* Revised match steel rewards: Steel is always a great incentive for any game mode. A 500 steel reward for winning the tournament would not be overkill if the player is only awarded it once per day. The next tournament victory one the same day could go back to the standard rate of 100 steel. An alternative solution would be to increase the steel reward between 25 - 50% for each match and the bonuses awarded for quarters, semis, and finals.
* Improved loot rate - double the rate would be good or the same rate as events drop them. The 'extra loot' awarded seems no different from standard duels.
* Extra xp - a bonus 25% xp per match won and bonus 100% xp for winning the final.
* Address connection issues - while every game mode suffers from this it is more costly in tournaments for obvious reasons.

Remove the ****ing tournament mode, the main reason it is not played is because it takes 15 minutes and then theres more waiting between each match. I dont want to play a ****ing waiting simulator. There is no playerside benefit to doing it this way but plenty of downsides. Youd have to give players insane incentives to make anyone play this crap. And even then they dont play it because the mode is good but because it gives MOAR STUFF!
Single match, best of 3, rewards based on ladder placing at the end of the season.
