Serious question. How does RNG work in this game? Since the update, all the exotic drops I've had have been Skull MC gloves - about 6 pairs. From the GE caches I received several DE braces (none classified), and now from Classified drops I've had 3 or 4 pairs of DE gloves. I can hack grinding if I feel like I've got a fair chance of getting gear that I'm after but this just seems ridiculous
From my experience RNG works like this. If it is really wanted by the community, then only a handful will get it, just not YOU. If you really want it, they everyone else will get it but YOU. If it is a meta, others will get it but YOU. If DON'T want it, that will be all that YOU will get. If you cheat, glitch, or gank someone else for it, YOU will get it. In almost every case IT will be garbage and YOU will spend many hours of therapy discussing what exactly happened and wondering why did you do it.Originally Posted by Ado80s Go to original post

What part of random is difficult to understand?
If you don't get into semantics - the RNG is fine. It's as random as it gets.
If you want to dissect the weights of each individual item and the probability of getting one item over the other it's different. There are also loot pools and not everything is available from everywhere. Which on the other hand can dilute certain reward options with stuff you don't want.
Reality is all RNG looters are trash.
No one but Massive know how it works in their game.
For example, let's say a Named boss in the lz drops an exotic. When was the id number of that exotic pulled? As soon as the boss died? As soon as you load into the instance? When the boss spawned in the game? Only they know, in that regards.Other than that, random is random.
