it's difficult yeah, you dont have any tools to handle them with. it will get somewhat easier once we finally get the promised patch that somehow haven't hit us yet containing the highlander GB fix. then we will atleast be on the same ground as other classes when it comes to easy parry followups.
superior block has very little use vs assassins who have such fast atkspeed, and our dodges are incredibly slow on startup (i dont know the numbers but i can't even dodge the followup shoulderbashes from warden, they can endlessly spam bash+lights).

i have spent a lot of time on raider so im used to having slow atks vs assassins already, and so will win against most PK's since most are just average. if i meet someone who's decent at mixing up lights and heavyfeints And uses safe dodgeatks, then im screwed 'cus that's all it takes.

if neither of us fall for feints, the speed of our attacks is what determines the fight, PK wins.
i don't have the same experience with Berserkers and Orochis however, they're pretty bad. PK's are only dangerous if they are incredibly solid. Gladiators however is at a whole 'nother level. it seems very easy for them to dominate Highlanders. they seem to be doing very well against most classes with very little effort, kinda like Centurion.

i would like to see something done about the Highlanders slow startups on both GB and dodge. i find myself going back to raider for better dodges so i can punish, smooth feints into GB, faster sprinting (you can't run away when outnumbered as highlander, he gets caught), aswell as proper parry followups (either heavy or GB). Highlander to me feels incomplete. maybe with GB fixed and swapping properties of the Def and Off lights like someone mentioned earlier in the forums will do the trick? but maybe that would be too much if you would also fix his dodge startup.
not sure, but he need something.
oh, and the kick+grab mixup looks odd. it's hard to tell but it looks like both can be avoided with 1 simple dodge. and all assassins can avoid this mixup completely with a side dashatk, might be intended but yeah, that makes things difficult. im gonna test around alittle with that though, there are other options i can think of.

Ive actually found zone to be somewhat effect against pk. If they are good they will block or parry, but more often than not they are dodge happy and will dodge the first swing right into the next swing. Other than that just getting lucky wiyh celtic curse seems to be the best option. Or if you are good, parry into a light. Not guarenteed but its better than nothing

nope. that's not it. I can defend against a ok or any other assassin ok. it's when I try to do damage that the problems arise. no attack except for the predictable and punishable celtic curse is fast enough so that ok (or assassins) can't land a hit between the start up of the animation until I land a hit.

I have noticed many times that for instance a Berserker heavy, feint, light is faster than the Highlander light. I try to superior block the heavy but they get their light through before mine hit them.

I'm also getting guardbroken ALOT when attacking, even with lights.
