DO NOT Start a match with uneven bot counts

In the last HOUR I have had three matches start with 2 bots on my team and 1 bot on the enemy team. By the time they start replacing bots we are already 300 points behind (Not calculating the 100 points from a cap)

This is outrageous. Three matches in a row didnt even wait to have an even number of players. No match I have played in the last 4 hours even waited to get all 8 players to start. I went through the trouble of getting an open NAT type to get as many players as possible. Nobody joined during hero select Nobody joined in the lobby. Nobody joined during the 1-2 minute loading screen. Nobody joined in the first 30 seconds. It took until 17:40 to start populating players. It took us another 3 minutes to get back on track because of everyone dying the minute they spawned from being outnumbered everywhere they went. And then we almost had hope until the entire enemy team got their final feat and started getting Double-Triple kills with cannon fire and spear volley instant deaths.

This is not purely my experience either. The other player who never left had to face 3 hopeless fights in a row, as the 2 who eventually joined our team always left afterward.

Do NOT load the game until there is at LEAST an even number of players in the match. If a player joins and disconnects before loading finishes you need to pause the match. I depend on your matchmaking to give me fair matches, and I dont appreciate fighting an uphill battle 3 matches in a row because you think players care more about gameplay quantity over quality.

people tend to start matches with only half the players. whether it's laziness or because they prefer starting with bots for easier matches i do not know. i started seeing it a lot after the postgame lobby changes. i surprisingly often get into a match that has already started and it's only me and one or two other players in it (dominion).

i dont particularly like the lobbychanges since it encourages this behaviour. and on that point, can you fix the Ready Up function? it's been broken since launch. in a brawl for example if 3 people ready up and the 4th guy leaves, the game will automatically start with only 3 people in it instead of canceling it. (this is where in other games the game would automatically search for a last player, but just canceling it is fine so you have the chance to leave)

Did I miss something? Because I don't think players are able to start a match. We have no influence if 1 or 2 or 3 bots are fighting next to us.

postmatch you get put in a lobby with a countdown and you'll be put in the next match unless you leave. many times half the players leave and the other half stays in the lobby for the next match resulting in the slots being filled with bots.

When you say Pause the match, do you mean the Pre game lobby until someone joins or if the fight has actually started and one player leaves, pause it until someone joins? If so, that should never ever happen. If you seriously want someone other than bots so much if you notice that there aren't enough players Pre Lobby, leave andsearch again?
You can also get past the leaver penalty, if you are past the 30 sec grace period.

I would love to leave and search again, but the difficulty of navigating through a maze of menus to get past the CONGRATULATIONS EXPERIENCE pause CONGRATULATIONS NEW GEAR pause CONGRATULATIONS NEW GEAR pause CONGRATULATIONS NEW GEAR

    Leave the lobby.
Queued back into the same lobby
Matched with 2 bots because 2 people didnt requeue.

And I want it to be the starting of the match. If within 30 seconds of match start (The time you are allowed to leave) and either team has unbalanced AI counts it needs to pause the match until it is even. In a 4v4 matchup having a bot that is effectively just a source of prestige for the enemy is a HUGE DISADVANTAGE.

Yeah, pretty frustrating when all that pops up and it takes just as long to hold A to skip as watching it all go through. By the end of all that I only have 30 or so seconds to make adjustments to hero, salvage, war assets or orders. Starts to feel very tedious, but by no means is it difficult to navigate. I disagree on pausing the fight though. For example, in Australia you are incredibly lucky to find a Elimination/Skirmish game. For whatever reason, 1 person out of 8 leaves and now 7 people are forced to sit and stare at a screen for God knows how long. This wait could be over 10 mins, no joke. I'm willing to bet more players would leave the game instead of waiting an unspecified amount of time.

A way to combat that would be to resume the game after a certain amount of time has passed, say 2 minutes. This would happen regardless if a player has replaced the bot. But say that another player who doesnt want to waste their time looking at the menu leaves, and now theres 2 spots to fill. Should the timer reset, or the game continue, if a new player does or doesn't join?

You have said numerous times that you've gone through entire games where a player doesn't replace the bot. Are you willing to wait that long, potentially longer, just to get one player back into the game, even then that isn't guaranteed? You might be happy to wait for long peroids of time for a game to start, but FH already has issues with long Que times. For every player that doesn't mind, there will be whole teams that leave instead of waiting. Pausing the game, especially when it's already started is a bad idea. A player leaves 25 seconds into the game, that is more than enough time for a quick class like PK to already be fighting someone. Imagine been in the middle of an intense fight and all of a sudden you have to wait for ages to fight again. You've lost your momentum, the game may have paused just as the enemy swung and when the game starts again you wont be locked on and thats free damage to your opponent.

There is no reason to waste my time with gear I dont have time to examine to potentially equip, and cosmetics I dont have time to view.

Yeah it would suck to have the game pause right at the start, but thats the only way for it to be a fair match. I have been at as far as 100-600 before players started to join in progress from having bots since the start of the match. If I get queued into a match that is 100-600 I leave immediately regardless, since matchmaking decided that I should be the one to make a comeback for this team instead of picking someone who queued up 3 minutes prior. And speak of the devil it literally happened as I was typing this up. It would have taken until 100-800 to rally the players to stop charging into the point the second they spawned. On top of that it is easy to see that players who are winning play better than players that are losing. On TOP of that the gameplay rewards high scoring players by giving them feats that can give you instant multi kills, which leads to a snowball effect that is easy to spot.

They wont need to pause the game 25 seconds into the match if they just replaced the bots before gameplay started. Most of the time when I have a bot on my team its because we didnt have enough players when the lobby finished the countdown, or someone left in hero select / loading / the instant the match started.

Holy **** you guys really take the cake this time. Dominion started in a 2v2. My team is 6 and 20 and the enemy team is 10 and 33. They had all the points within 30 seconds. Matchmaking gave them TWO players first. Matchmaking then waited another minute to give us players.

Matchmaking gave the winning team two players consecutively instead of handing them out one to each team at a time. They got both their bot slots filled within 2 minutes. We had to wait 3 to see our first bot replaced. By the time the match was at 8 players and the teams were even again we were 300-800.

    This needs fixed NOW.

Ok, so you want players to replace bots to make it a fair fight, I get that. But now you say you leave when you replace a bot and the team is losing? How hypocritical can a person be? Why do you deserve to get players replacing bots when you leave yourself when replacing a bot? I get it if you joined a team full of bots, or if there was 2 of you. But if there are 3 players including yourself on the team, and you just replaced the bot, then leave because you are losing, you don't deserve to have human players on your team. How would the other players feel when they see you join, they go through the exact same thought process as you, but instead you leave and leave them with no hope at all for that game and possibly the games to come. You're literally complaining matchmaking threw you into a game that was been lost instead of someone else. Did you not consider the people who searched before you got put into another game already, that could be either up by 500 or down by 500.

Yes, the matchmaking is horrible right now. We all know it, the devs have said they are continuously working on improving it. Making a new post about the same topic literally every single day isnmt going to magically make it get fixed instantly. These things take time. So please stop spamming the forums multiple times about the same issue.
