So, first of all, I am of course biased and love my katana wielding warrior.
But, I have noticed that literally everyone on this forum when they post a tier ranking of all the heroes put Orochi in either mid-tier or lower mid-tier.
So, I'm certainly not going to ask for the moon and say he needs a ton of buffing and then becomes a cancer.
So I was thinking...
Greatly improve one of his moves, and maybe add one more useful moveset to his kit, since he does have one of the shortest kits in the game.
What I think would be helpful is improving the Riptide Strike in two ways.
1. Make it so you cancel out of it early like his Storm Rush.
2. Make it so you have the option to pull back a little further to get out of the reach of some attacks.
I was thinking when you pull down the left stick and push up the right stick, you can then have a little backward / forward flexibility to strike down forward by pressing R2 sooner or later. So if you choose to wait a little longer, he pulls back even just a little further.
I honestly hadn't thought about a new move though, maybe I will think about that, or would love to hear some ideas.
And a side note idea:
Not a performance enhancing improvement, but an aesthetics one.
I always got the feeling that when he Parry's to the side, it has a very "Knightish" like look to it.
I think a more "Samuraish" look would be he he turned his sword upside down and did the side parry with one hand.
That would just thrill me.
I'm very passionate about getting at least a little more out of him, because I probably won't be a fan of the Ronin character coming next season, or at least rumored to be.
I love katanas, but I don't love the look of fighting with two of them.
I prefer one.
And please Ubisoft!
On PS4, and all other consoles I've seen people complain about on here since two patches ago.
Fix assassin reflex blocking!
It's barely working anymore!
Thanks.
Okay, that could be interpreted wrong.
I'm not saying you can hold it as long as you like, like the Storm Rush.
But say you press R2 really fast, he performs it as it is now.
Or you can hold it and have a window to pull back a little further, to a maximum point, not THAT much further, but a little.
And release anywhere in between in that short window as well.
To edit, on mobile at least there should be a little pencil looking thing under your post. On PC I assume it would be similar.
But to your post, yes and no. Orochi can be a very strong hero. All a player needs to do is feint heavy into double top light, throw a zone in here and there. If you want to follow through with your mentioned buffs, flicker must first be fixed. The double top lights needs a damage reduction, or allow the 2nd to be blocked.
