You dont want to spend the $$ on maintaining the app. We get it.
The delay was bad, that's obvious, I think we can all agree that Ubisoft isn't investing enough into this game because of how poorly the content is getting delivered and at such a relatively slow rate. The removal of maps from casual is really stupid too, I don't agree with that at all, casual players should be fine to play poorly balanced maps, we've already been doing it for a year.
You CAN'T pitch them crap for trying to fixed ranked though. I don't see what the problem there is, if you want to play these poorly balanced maps then just play casual, ranked SHOULD have only have balanced maps to begin with and Ubisoft are making a very obvious and good move that they're trying to put the health of the game first. The maps will get fixed in due time, even if it takes up to part of season 3 working on these maps instead of making new ones (although unideal) because in the end it's about quality more than quantity isn't it? Just look at how CSGO's competitive scene does a rotation of no more than 7 or so maps.
EDIT:
Alright, reading this it's kinda sucky, my assumption is that consoles have an upper limit to how big an application can be on the local machine, and that this needs to be rolled out across all platforms for system parity. If that's the case then this is a huge case of how consoles are holding pcs back and it's really infuriating. We are quickly approaching the limit of our data sizes. As a result, we are currently planning on removing maps from the game entirely down the road
It's not a huge loss imo if we have maps like university and favela removed from the game entirely, but it'd be a bummer. If this is a true limitation of console then it'd be nice to break a bit of parity and just keep such maps in pc's casual mode. The REALLY scary thing that this entire situation could assume is that as they add maps in the future, they will constantly be hitting this data size limit and will be removing maps as they add them, something about this REALLY needs to change.
I was referring more to in-game toxicity but you're right on both fronts.Originally Posted by Safety-Broken89 Go to original post
I'd be in on this if it weren't for the fact that I spend my weekends playing games like this and I get bored at a decent rate with each of them so I constantly rotate between each. This sucks and all, but i'll still be playing ranked come the weekend. Doesn't mean I'll be making anymore in game purchases though, done with that ****.
It's cool dude. Nobody needs you to sacrifice more than you're willing to. Glad to have your support either way.Originally Posted by seaners95 Go to original post
They could have simply added a map vote feature for siege but leave to them for finding the worst solution for their problems...Originally Posted by NATural22cHANce Go to original post
Why boycott when Ubi is clearly demonstrating the necessity to lower the player base to the point where we wont require one. I'll wait for Ubi to show if they had this all planned out by some form of casual matchmaking improvements. Its gonna need OH2 if they didn't.
I Honestly don't think you need to do anything. The season will be DOA if ranked only has 9 maps in rotation and not including the new map. 90% of the players have no clue whats coming. Gonna hit'em like a freight train that will automatically kill a large chunk of rankers on impact.
