Anytime I see a Tier 3 mask on someone I think...
SHAME...bell rings...SHAME...
Was it even possible for anyone to get into tier 3 without cheesing?
If not, everytime I see someone sporting a tier 3 mask im gonna think...do I really want to be on the same team as an exploiter...
NOPE.
Yes its a cosmetic item...
But it also tells me everything I need to know about you as a person.
Hopefully yannick and hamish will ban the lot of you and rip your masks away from your grubby, chubby unclean hands...
Bruce lee wouldnt have cheesed...and neither should you.
Without the percentage based bug, Tier 3 was even possible solo.
But with it, only dedicated 4 man groups try harding could make it into Tier 3 running CS as fast as possible (the legit way).
I got into Tier 3 the first 2 days just solo'ing Hudson with Severe outbreak, even started timing runs.
But in the weekend the % bug kicked into high gear and bumped me back into tier 2. Knowing Massive wouldn't fix this in time, I took matters into my own hands and... well I cheesed it a bit:
I combined 1575 GE points from a Legendary Times Square with 4 to 5 Hudson runs and then I opened up 105 Survival Caches I saved up during the weekend. It's 1 final stretch that got me to 15K.
Without the cache cheese I was at 8764, which, if the percentages weren't bugged, would've put me and a lot of other players into Tier 3 the legit way.
I'm convinced that the guy with 36K on PC wasn't hacking, but merely had 3 or 4 computers and 3 or 4 accounts and used these in a combined effort to basically "maximize" the cheese by joining his own missions from other computers, open tons of caches, ...
I think these leaderboards could work with a lot of adjustments. Caches should not count and there should be seperate leaderboards for solo's and groups. Partially also because you can be a good player with a bad group or matchmaking, these groups (tried matchmaking for CS) simply cannot output the pacing in their runs of CS. Though you can output quite a high pace solo if you're good in non incursions.
I also think adjustments need to be made to rewards from missions overall: PhX Credits, GE Tokens, ... it baffles me that a mission that takes twice as long and is equally as hard yields the same results. Similarly this also applies to incursions, with CS being completely out of whack when you look at rewards per minute time spent.
It is possible to but it isn't easy. If you have a good group it can be done that day.Originally Posted by Paulmyth Go to original post
Which imo is also a problem in itself. There are a lot of good players out there who don't necessarily have a good group. The majority of players in my friends list, if I play with them, I would have to carry them.Originally Posted by gt2k Go to original post
The rewards are individual, yet the effort to achieve them requires dependency on 3 other people, which is backwards logic imo if you want to reward good players.
Another post regarding mask. Lol
Dear Paulmyth you don't have a Tier 3 mask because you are not in top 10% of Division Players. Does it makes you a bad person? NO, ITS NOT! You just not AS good in this game, AS top 10 %.
Do you understand why you don't have a Tier 3 mask now ?
Regarding CHEATERS. I think its great that we had so many cheaters in leaderboard! Now all of them will be permabanned. Great news!
Considering that - i would think twice before calling someone a cheater, just for wearing a tier 3 mask.
Like I said: I'm not entirely sure if people with 36K scores were using actual cheats. Considering the guy on PC had the same name on all 3 accounts, I assume he just bought 3 accounts and owned 3 PC's and used this to maximize his "cheesing".
The problem is that the % calculations were bugged and it wasn't actually 10% but far less. I think a step in the right direction (if we want to keep these leaderboards) would be to add requirements / limitations such as:Originally Posted by TheGeckoHimself Go to original post
- Caches not being a valid source towards the leaderboards
- In order to get the missions GE Tokens to count, one would have to have "attended" the entire mission length, not just the end
- The mere existence of Clear Sky makes it necessary to rethink rewards/minute or add seperate solo / group Leaderboards
EDIT: This prompted me to make this topic http://forums.ubi.com/forumdisplay.p...s-amp-Feedback
lol dude, have you ever looked at the DZ leaderboards, none of those cats ever get permabanned. DO NOT, I REPEAT, DO NOT believe them when they say they actively ban players or are even looking at the stuff we send in, they arent. Ive sent in videos of dude teleporting around the map and i guarantee ill see him within 2 days in the DZ wrecking people and atop the leaderboards as i do every week.Originally Posted by TheGeckoHimself Go to original post
Dear Seth Gecko...
Of course Im not very good at this game! I already knew that!!!
But cheesing is NOT skill!!
I do understand why I dont have a tier 3 mask...its because I didnt stack up missions, caches etc...
You may think you have done nothing wrong, but I disagree. Its shady.
You do realise that thousands of players are currently grinding Last Stand right now...by the time the next GE comes round they will have had three weeks of saving up caches.
The tier 3 scoreboard next time will be like 40 thousand plus points at this rate.
Im pretty sure that wasnt the intended purpose of the event.
I dont care about getting a tier 3 mask myself, I just want an even playing field for everyone...with no exploits.
Your move Mr Gecko...
This GE leaderboard was not about being good or not in this game. It was about who was willing to cheese the event or not. The knowledge of how to easily cheese the leaderboard was posted here, reddit and youube just a few days after the event started. Some players decided to do it, most did not. The ones who chose to cheese got three masks, while the rest of the players who didn't, well, you can see the reactions.Originally Posted by TheGeckoHimself Go to original post
The really ironic part is that cheesing the leaderboard was perfectly legal and part of the game. Someone found a really ingenious way to farm for GE tokens within the acceptable parameters of the game, and since you could get those from any activity, and the leaderboard was designed to reward those players with the highest GE tokens per hour, we now see the result.
If Massive would have tested the GE leaderboards in the PTS, they would have saved themselves from the current crap storm that they're at right now...
The real question now is: will Massive create avenues for players to obtain the masks other than playing global events, or are they going to be permanently unavailable?
