That's more along the lines of what I am suggesting with a variable power optic on the AR15 in the game albeit much closer to the optic, one really shouldn't be able to see the inside of the optic housing/tube at all.

The thing is, when the scope is barely there, it just looks like you are hip firing, but zoomed in.

Also, in the same vein as this, I dont like how you always run with your gun in front of you, that is VERY unrealistic.

Look how soldiers run with their ARs. They keep them at their chest, and quickly swing it up to shoot as needed.

I wish FPS would get that right.

if the game had scoped aiming look like your first picture that would be such a waste of screen space the actual target area is very limited and all that space on the sides is wasted not to mention no one looks through a scope with it in the center of the vision like that they look through the scope with one eye so it would be more real i think if it was sort of off centered but then that is weird to do in a game and the position of the guns when running is supposed to be like the pic you posted thats why the gun in the game is at the bottom of the screen i guess it just depends on how you see the field of view

I liked the field of view we had in FC3 & 4. The weapon didn't come up into our hands until we looked down the sights. Yea, I have quite a few of them in my gun safe. Thumbs up to Gr4nt8rody!

i think the field of view could stand to be a touch pulled back it is on the narrow side so it could be a tad wider when you are crouched the weapons are held far to close to the characters face which is the cammera in the game

....or they could just fit the entire lens of the optic and reticle on the screen, plenty of games have made superior alternatives to portraying optics than what is currently presented in the FC series.
It's ok if people don't mind it but that doesn't make it a good design choice or that it doesn't bother other people.

Going back to FC2 - the M1903 scoped up really fast which was really good for quickscoping and it was also very precise and the crosshairs didn't move all over the place - MUCH BETTER!
Much less REALISTIC as well, actually looking through a scope has a reasonable amount of sway if you're just holding it up...
