Vanilla Heroes
Before I get to the Point let me just say this: I really like the Idea of this Game but I HATE the actual state it is in. And yes I am often salty, and yes I am often angry. So I will try to be as objective as possible.
Ubisoft please for the sake of sanity, take care of the Vanilla Heroes, give them some Love and make them feel welcome again in the World of For Honor and the Battlefields.
I started playing this Game right at the beginning but lost interest after a week or so because of the massive connection Problems, Bugs, connection Problems, missing balance, connection Problems, and lots of other stuff that we all know about.
So a few month ago shortly before the second Season started I decided to give the Game another try and take a look at the new Heroes. I was overwhelmed how badly balanced the new Heroes were and decided to just level other Heroes to get a feel for there Movesets and how they play, because in the beginning I exclusively played Conqueror who a mess at that time after the Nerfhammer came down on him like bunch of wild Rep 1 PK's.
So as I said I started playing all the Heroes to at least Rep 1, including Shinobi and Centurion. By doing so I started playing Shugoki for the very first time. He was the last Hero I really tried because somehow I found him terribly slow and somehow lacking in so many Areas. His Moveset is very limited, his best move got nerfed into the ground and he was one of those Heroes that just seemed much to weak to be viably in Competitve.
After getting Shugoki to Rep 1 I rerolled onto my Raider, which was my new Main and played him to Rep 3.
And then one Afternoon I found a very nice group of people in 4v4 and we played like 4 Matches together.
The Group was ME(Raider), Nr.2: (Kensei), Nr.3: (Orochi) and Nr.4: (Nobushi). Somehow we ended up using Discord and we had the Idea to just play all the Samurai Heroes, or at least 4 of the 5. I decided to switch to Shugoki because I am not a Big Fan of playing Assassins myself and we started playing Matches as a Group.
One of the other Players had a Rep 12 Shugoki and he just gave me some Tips because I really sucked at him at that time, or at least I wasnt too good with him.
On that day we played around 20-30 Matches in that Constellation and I really liked playing Shugoki in the End.
Yes he is slow and his Moveset is limited, but boy, if you know how to play him and you get a better feeling with him he really can be a Monster, especially in 4v4 where, if you don't focus him, he can become an unstoppable force that can easily destroy the whole Enemy Team if they react to late because they really want to destroy the little Orochi.
Ever since then I play him, and him alone, I never went back to any other Hero except for Nobushi because she is a nice Hero and so different from Shugoki that I like to throw her in from time to time to get some variety. But 29 out of 30 Games Shugoki is my Hero of choice.
I also sometimes play other Heroes IF I have to use them for ORDERS.
So I know this is a long Post but please bare with me.
Why do I explain all this? Because I sometimes sit there playing the Big Man and think, „Why does Ubisoft hate all the Vanilla Heroes? Why don't they have any interest and making them more attractive for other Players to be picked by them?“. And I must say I have no Idea. It is beyond me why they have lost all interest in giving the Heroes it all started with so few attention, as if they only care for the new shiny toys that come into the Store.
For me whenever I see someone playing a Kensei or another Shugoki or Orochi or Conqueror it is a Sign that the Player using this Hero really must love this Hero. Because we all know that these Heroes are in a very bad State right now. Especially Kensei is probably the saddest Hero of them all right now.
And people still chose him for the Battlefield, they know that they are at a disadvantage but still they stick with him. And they are waiting that something happens and someone at Ubisoft takes responsibility and does something for these Heroes, that have been abandoned for so long and that are waiting to become relevant again, and not only relevant for the Players who love them anyway but also for other Players who might pick them up if they get some love. I believe that there are alot Players out there who Play a Hero they actually don't really want to play because the Hero they really like is just lacking and not good enough for them.
So Please Ubisoft, I am not asking especially for Shugoki or Kensei I am saking for all the Heroes that have been forgotten. Please work on them and try to get them up to the Level of the most recent Heroes who are definfing the actual Meta.
And before someone asks why I don't switch to Centurion or Gladiator or whatever other FOTM Hero there is:
I love the Big Man and I don't abandon him ever, like never ever!
I switch to Nobushi from time to time and sometimes I play a little Kensei or even Raider to mix it up
I also like the Centurion but please don't tell Shugoki because he is a big baby and I don't want to hurt his feelings
To all the Kensei out there: I allways love going into battle side by side with you guys, it is an honor being in your presence. To me you guys rock even if you do it being sad.
To all the Conqueror out there: kudos for sticking with the Man when I didn't, shame on me, and yes I still love playing him from time to time. You never forget your first love right?
To all the Nobushi out there: The time will come when people will open Threads about you guys ebing OP, just hamg im there a little bit longer, I still believe they can pull this off. Oh and thanks for the Poke!!!
Before I tear up one last shoutout to Ubisoft: Lets do this DEVS!!!
