Doesn't it just mean that all 3 cultures have things that spook them? The Samurai have the Oni, the Vikings are for some reason spooked by bog witches (admittedly I don't know much about the Viking culture) and the Knights have what looks like a representation of the grim reaper.

In as few words as possible I'm going to try and make a valid point on saying real world history has nothing to do with for Honor by that implication alone then they wouldn't have the names they do but they wouldn't have the similarities they do that is an absolutely ignorant statement to make

Now I know I get into this argument with other people before how people can ultimately say that it's not relevant because it is a story that never happened and that is true

That's why I would call this historical fantasy which I know that sounds very counterproductive however it does make sense when you look at it

Again I still wish for more realistic Viking downloadable content and armor and more historically accurate options

I mean for the love of God it be nice if maybe you had an option to have an ornament that was a Helm for Berserker

Or maybe here's even a crazier idea why not put up bear shirt which I guess would be a bear ornament for the Berserker which literally means bear shirt

There's all sorts of cool ways they could go about doing the Norseman too bad I'm not a concept artist for them

And I know that that is my opinion and I will admit that I still have to say it is a fact to say that historical purpose does not exist within the game is absolutely again a ignorant statement to make I don't know how someone could be so blind

The knights look like knives the Samurai look like Samurai the Vikings look like Vikings to some degree with artistic Liberties added that I kind of irritated by but that's another topic

Either way it obviously isn't true I don't even see how someone can make that statement unless they were trying to indicate that ultimately the storyline doesn't have to follow a rigid historical point of view which they are right but it would behoove them to not do that because people that bought the game at least I thought the game because it wasn't f****** Elder Scrolls

I'm not interested in things that aren't real I bought this game because it was supposed to be realistic and and it was advertised that it had real cultures that existed in history at war with each other in a fantasy setting obviously

    Anyway I've said my opinion

    "Ignorant"?

Okay, then allow me to rephrase it in this manner: "For Honor exists in a completely separate universe to our own, and is thus exempt from any restrictions of our history. Why? Because: the events that happened in the For Honor universe's history are completely, utterly different to the history in the real world. The names and locations and languages and other similarities to the real world are completely, utterly coincidental, assuming that real world history had no bearing on the events in For Honor's universe. For Honor's lore and history is as separate from the real world as the Lord of the Rings universe is. Things from the real world inspired it, yes, but you wouldn't make the claim that the Lord of the Rings was ever trying to be accurate to history".

Also.... the game was NEVER advertised as being historically accurate. It was NEVER stated to be "supposed" to be realistic. I'm afraid that you are mistaken in that regard.
To call me or anyone ignorant because we recognize these facts is... purely myopic and downright weird.

I've tried to understand what BudgetParrot is trying to say but I just can't decipher what his point is. Could be my failing but both his posts just read like an uninterrupted stream of conciousness to me.

I get that he isn't happy about For Honor not being a historically accurate depiction of these 3 cultures at war. To which I would say, the game was never advertised as Deadliest Warrior: The Video Game. It was always going to lean more towards the fantasy of an 'alternate' realism. But what I can't figure out is what that has to do with Arco's write up of the game's lore.

Woah...I'm just catching on to this. As someone who has dabbled in picking up a thread of For Honor to write a fan fiction piece this is a magnificent launching point. Thanks so much for all the effort involved in this!
