Bug: Tier 1: Convoys cannot be destroyed | Forums

I have tried to hit two convoys, one from an armored SUV and another from a helicopter and they are invincible, simply cannot be destroyed, yet after a certain amount of time I get a radio message that I can now tag the target vehicle. I have Tier One activated but I do not know if this has anything to do with it. Can anyone help? Many thanks.

I was having the same “problem”. In fact the main vehicle of a convoy can been damaged or been blown up and destroyed. Tier one doesn’t affect this. The bar in the upper left of the screen shows the vehicle’s “health”. The main vehicle will stop if it’s health reaches 30-40%. It is difficult to make it with the minigun of an armored SUV (I was trying for about 20 minutes) but it is pretty easy to do it with a helicopter equipped with guns. Just pay attention not to completely destroy the vehicle. Also I’d advise you first to take out the escort vehicles and then shoot at the main one. Also the radio message that you mentioned that "you can now tag the vehicle" is a kind of a "bug" since your teammate keeps repeating it although the main vehicle is still on the move.I hope that this helped.

Thank you. I am still mystified though, and sure that it must be an anomaly. I am leveled up enough that taking out the escorts one by one from either ground, with minigun, or air is pretty routine. But tonight they took NO damage over ridiculously long pursuits, despite a constant stream of hot lead. And as I mentioned, the game seemed to "think" I had done the job, telling me to tag the target vehicle even while the convoy drove on, unharmed. I am hoping something will reset when I try again tomorrow.

I have the exact opposite problem on PS4. If I use a helicopter I can blow up all 3 vehicles and still collect the reward. I also have convoys that never move and wont engage with me so all I have to do is walk up and tag the truck, no shots fired. A nice glitch to have I guess but I don't really care for those types of missions so I rarely do them.

AI shooting or yourself? AI is notoriously ineffective shooting at vehicles.

Also go with your own weapons at them. The vehicle damage bonus doesn't seem to apply to vehicle mounted weapons. Either snipe the vehicles with HTI, SR-1 (if you don't want to blow up the transport - 2 hits stop it),.. or in coop with a player driving, using an LMG stops cars fast and is a good replacement for miniguns.

You get a lower reward than if the target truck hadn't blown up.

It was all about Tier 1. Perhaps I was being dopey in not realising that Tier 1 is all about coop...isn't it? Certainly you cannot kill a convoy with an all-AI assault team and the player either driving or flying a helicopter without guns because those vehicles don't take damage from AI with Tier 1 activated. I deactivated it and hit a medical convoy from a helo, with the taking out the support vehicles, after which I lander the helo, disembarked and tagged the target vehicle under fire. Great battle, with both cartel and Unidad thugs. No more Tier 1 for me until I start playing coop.

You are better off taking out the convoys usinh either a weapon, the EMP drone, creating a blockade and shooting the driver or using a vehicle minigun yourself (plant yourself in the direction the convoy is coming and wait). The whole AI shooting a vehicle to stop them is pretty screwed compared to non-tier mode.

Hi Bahger1960! We really appreciate the report - I just have a couple of questions that could help us investigate this.

• Do you happen to have any video of this issue occurring?
• What platform are you playing on?
• About how long were you attempting to damage the convoy?
• Which weapons were you using?

Yeah the convoys are pretty bullet proof with your AI teammates shooting in Tier 1.... Only "quick" way on the go is to keep smashing their vehicles with yours, much quicker than the useless AI teammates any form of weapon usage.
