Removing foul language? You must be kidding?! Foul language - is a salt of the game!!! FarCry is not for children!!! And I hope never will be! Play 12+ games if FarCry language is so dirty for you! Go on enjoying your infantilism! The most terrible mistake that developers can make in the future - is trying to satisfy everyone in FarCry: women, children.....And developers have this big temptation - to make the game for a wider audience. But this is a trap! You want be able to run with the hare and hunt with the hounds!

They can at least tone it down, at times it can get uncomfortable because the swears are meaningless, having one here and there is much preferred. Far Cry 3 had a lot of swearing, but it fit Vaas and the game. If Pagan swore like Vaas did I would be getting a whole nother character feel for Pagan. I haven't seen Jospeh much yet so idk.

I'm with canadian on this, it shouldn't be super over the top, but rather appropriate to the situation. Honestly, I'd say it should be dialed back in this game, especially from the enemy force because if they're disguising themselves as a christian group it'd make more sense for them not to go about spouting foul language, swearing at "thy neighbor" being against one of the 10 commandments of christianity, so if they're to be purporting to be christian they'd need to be acting the part in some respects (given that they're clearly breaking others with all the murders & subjugation & the like)... The friendlies are clearly more immune to restricting foul language, and we've already seen them using it in the vids. Removing it though is A) not realistic, in real life people swear, I know I do, and B) it's a solution to a problem that doesn't, or shouldn't exist. Kiddies shouldn't be playing this M rated game anyway even if there was no curse words...

Country language is very rich in curses and in abusive expressions! Country people are closer to nature.....and their language is rather colorful....more colorful than cities' language! I think in the game should be one or several local characters who are particularly strong in profanity! Let's call one of our enemy Johny. Johny can be "a lover of Bacchus" and alcoholic binge.....his "mouth" can be as dirty as manure pit....Johny can have a drinking buddy - Tom.....Together they can make a wonderful duet of foul language - they can cuss us, competing with each other in some ridiculous way. Not every our enemy should swear like a trooper......but some "colorful" persons can be in the game.

I agree with HorTyS' comments, but disagree withGameGurus ones below HorTyS'es post. I don't see such language in my rural area, as those country folks here don't see the need to interject their conversations with colorful words. But then I guess it goes with how we were all educated..., how that old saying go...'when I was a child I spoke like a child, but when I became a man.....?

Well they aren't actually a christian group, they're using the guise of christianity as a ploy for recruitment. If they were truly a christian group I think they'd be more ok with swearing than they are with you know... the murders... As for the necessity, I mean, yeah, it's not necessary, but people do it, so really it's more realistic to have it than it is to avoid it completely...

Some places the player is bound to hear it, say like the bar, and perhaps a camp or so. But please tone it down a little? I agree with HorTyS comments.

It should really be determined by context. As you said a bar is a place more likely to have profanity slung about, but also it should make sense for the character using it. Nick Rye seems like kind of a hick type dude, so it makes sense for him, but Pastor Jerome? Yeah, he shouldn't swear. It could stand to be toned down/ dialed back a bit, because it can seem excessive. Sometimes Ubi games go overboard with it. Splinter Cell Conviction is the perfect example.
