I'm now headed out the door thanks to several proverbial straws breaking the camel's back. The nerf to D3, seekers, and now the removal of talents procing on skill kills is just too much. So, this day one player is headed out, but what else is out there? I really struggled to get into Destiny and Warframe, but just didn't like the scifi setting. I am not a fan of FPS much either like COD. Division was about perfect for me.
What else is out there that people are playing that is a sort of looter/rpg somewhat set in the real world? anything?
It's a sci fi game so it's not exactly what you're looking for, and I know it has a bad reputation because of a poor initial release, but I highly recommend Mass Effect Andromeda. The single player campaign IMO is a lot of fun, I'm on my third replay trying new choices. And the multiplayer is a LOT of fun, so many different characters to choose from with different talents. It's sci fi but it is a third person shooter of sorts.
I know Warframe might not be your style but I recommend giving it a try.
I didn't want to for a while, then I saw Skillups video and gave it a shot, and I can say, running with a friend is really fun.
I'd say with the active world of Warframe, all the events occurring in game all the time; the Division could learn a huge amount on how to tackle the PvE. Not saying a one for one, but understanding it will have value to the Division.
I feel your pain and I am in exactly the same boat. I'll be taking my Inventive backpack out for one last run and I'm done.Originally Posted by DGR874 Go to original post
I also feel exactly the same as you in terms of games. Never got into Destiny although I think strangely enough that I will be able to get into Anthem. There's also RDR2 coming out. Both next year though so not much has piqued my interest from the current line up.
It is another perfect example of why Massive's decision making is so, so short sighted. This game is unique. There is NOTHING out there like it. It could have been HUGE, still could with a few changes but they simply refuse to acknowledge this or do anything about it.
All I can say is wait it out. Someone out there is going to recognize this potential, maybe they already have and when someone like Rockstar produces a Division competitor it will be game over for Massive.
I hear what you are saying... it's tough to find the perfect fit game especially when one had so much potential and yet it got indescribably mismanaged.Originally Posted by DGR874 Go to original post
I've heard some positive and negative things about Destiny 2, and to be homest I'd be very surprised if a Division 2 surfaces, especially based on the same Snowdrop engine.
It all depends on your taste in games. Ove the past few months after giving TD a break I've been playing Diablo III and picked up Warframe back up a couple months ago and found it is so much better when you get a mate or two to help you get a foothold of the game. It is so full of so many options and things to do, and after playing for some time I saw the likes of SkillUp, LikeButter and more recently Lt LiteBeer pickng up Warframe as an amazing experience. You may give it a go but don't base your decision on a handful of hours at the beginning. Give it a bit - It truly is worth doing.
Give The Witcher a go if you are after PVE
I'm about to install patch 1.7 but even though I promised a couple friends that I'm coming back to TD to see the differences in 1.7 (I don't see myself staying as it still is the Lexington and Anhurst Apartment end game), I will be biding my time for 1.8. If the rumours are true then what I'm after, new content, missions, maps, and story is supposedly coming. Half the story is missing for TD and I'm hoping the conclusion of this story will come.
I definitely have my value for money in terms of The Division... the whole concept of many years of support and gameplay projected at the launch of TD sounded awesome as I loved the game but it is hard to see happening TBH.
I'm enjoying (a lot) Mass Effect Andromeda multiplayer. It's hectic, superfast shooter style I like a lot. And there's loot, tons of loot, character progression and building attributes/skills the way you like. After few hours MEA Division feels like a snail, pedestrian game in which everything happens in slo mo.Originally Posted by DGR874 Go to original post
