He is definitely not weak against Orochi. He is in fact a hard counter in my experience (if you play as a mobile counter attacker that tries to capitalize on the recovery after a whiff attack or small windows between attacks). I'd plenty of matches against one guy who was using his trading and combo capabilities of the defence form pretty well. Yes, sure it is still early, and to be an effective counter attacker one has to remember the moveset and possibilities of the opponent thus I always ate an attack here and there due to miscalculation - so within time this might change a bit. But I had the impression that he in fact had some quite surprisingly combinations in which a heavy would come out so fast that it was even hard to block and he definitely has hyper armor properties on real fast so the damage I could deal was always little to nothing. And btw with the fast heavy I don't mean Celtic Curse but the heavies that chain after a light for instance or after a celtic curse top heavy (if I am not mistaken). And since hyperarmor and trading capabilities are generally good against assassins I don't see why the highlander should have troubles against at least the orochi even in the future.Originally Posted by Tundra 793 Go to original post
Also on the other hand I had not much troubles (was about a fair fight I would say) with a warden against said player. On top of that whilst as a Shogoki I even hard countered his strategy entirely since his chains would be stopped due to superior block plus my own trading and hard hitting capabilities (charged heavies can be use against this one quite well).
As I see it, the highlander benifits largely from mixups and chains with plenty of options, different attack speeds and his reach.
Will also try him out myself soon once I can afford him steelwise.
What I don't like is his effective range.
I've swung a single side heavy and it entirely missed the person to my right despite the sword passing through him to get to my target.
This is a effective tactic for Kensei but apparently the range of the Claymore isn't coded equally to the Nodachi
